Heisman Finalists vBet

I like RGIII, Honey Badger, Ball in that order. If Luck didn't lay an egg against Oregon he'd be in my top three, and Richardson has 12 less TD's then Ball and less yards. Honestly Ball and Luck probably have the best chance of winning, since Honey Badger and Richardson will split the SEC region vote, Griffin doesn't get the media attention he deserves, and both the B1G and Pac-ten are desperate for a Heisman winner seeing that the last four Heisman champions came from the SEC and Big Twelve and both the B1G and Pac region will vote heavily for their region's candidate.

FWIW:

Robert Griffin '11: 4,642 total yards, 45 TDs
Cam Newton '10: 4,327 total yards, 50 TDs
Tim Tebow '07: 4,181 total yards, 55 TDs

Griffin 72.4% 6 INT 192.3 QB rating
Newton 66.1% 7 INT 182 QB rating
Tebow 66.9%, 6 INT 172.5 QB rating

Bradford'08: 4767 total yards, 55 TD, 8 INT, 180 QB rating

On another note, RGIII and Andrew Luck don't even compare.

Luck '11: 3,323 total yards, 37 TD, 9 INT, 167.5 QB rating

Honey Badger would have my vote. Nobody has made more game changing plays, and he plays on the #1 team in the nation.

I have never understood how that boosts an individual's personal achievements for an award such as this one. If anything, it is more difficult to stand out with a weak supporting cast. Being on the number 1 team should make it easier to excel because you have more help surrounding you.

This.

The award is supposed to go to "Most Outstanding Player", not "Most Outstanding Player on the Best Team".

In the case of Honey Badger, I would argue that without him, they wouldn't be number 1 in the nation. So him being outstanding and on the number 1 team is a big deal.
Right, but would he be the honey badger on most defenses? Probably not, he'd probably be a rich man's Will Allen with return ability.

Baylor would be 3-9 without RGII, not 9-3. They're fucking Baylor. LSU would be, at worst, 10-2 without Mathieu. Frankly, while his punt returns versus Arkansas and Georgia were nice plays the Tigers eventually won both games in blowout fashion. Over 60 minutes, the stronger team imposed its will.

Meanwhile, Baylor had to win shoot outs all season because their defense sucks. RGIII had to carry his team for 60 minutes. Mathieu never had to do that.

So which player is truly elevating his team, and which is just one of many good players on an already very good team?
