I got a death threat from a guy who dialed the wrong number a few years ago.

It was hilarious.

So... feel free to share here or PM me, but I'm very interested to know how this thing started and where it went from there. :slappy:

I can only imagine that it started with, "Imma kilt you muddafukker!"

Pretty much that.

He started with "I finally found you, yadda yadda yadda, You hurt our friend now we are gonna hurt you etc etc etc" tried to make it sound like a mafia thing.

I started laughing and said something to the effect of "appreciated, but I think you dialed the wrong number"

A few back and forths later (me saying who's the friend I hurt?) and I finally said "ok, you don't have to tell me your friends name, tell me who you think I am"

His answer didn't exactly match so I just left it with a "check the number you dialed dipshit" and hung up

He never called back so I'm assuming he figured it out. Bad news for him was that the company I work for has a media division so they are very adept at handling death threats (lots of former secret service types). I gave them the number he called from and a little debrief when they investigated.

No idea what ever came of it.

Rather be in jail': 70-year-old man robs bank to get arrested and away from wife, police say

As the domestic dispute heated up, Ripple yelled that he’d “rather be in jail than at home,” according to police documents obtained by Reuters.

It seems Ripple is a man of his word, because after the fight, he drove to the Brotherhood Bank and Trust in the Riverview neighborhood of Kansas City.

He strolled in and handed the teller a demanding note — one that, according to an FBI affidavit for his arrest obtained by WPLG, he “wrote out … in front of his wife.”

“I have a gun. Give me money,” his scrawled handwriting read.

So the teller gathered $3,000 and handed it over to the elderly bank robber.

But he didn’t rush out to a waiting getaway car. In fact, he didn’t make any attempt to escape whatsoever.

Instead, he approached a chair in the bank’s lobby and plopped himself down

Lawrence John Ripple ladies and gentlemen. A name soon to be up there with Al "touchdown" Bundy in my personal HOF.

I got a death threat from a guy who dialed the wrong number a few years ago.

It was hilarious.

In 2000 I was recently single and living in a brick town home/apartment community where there were 6 or 7 units per building. Really nice, a bit on the pricier side, but two floors, two dedicated parking spots, and best of all my unit was on the end of my row, so I shared only one wall and had an extra kitchen window. Loved that place.

One night my buddies stop over to play some Madden before we're all going to head to a bar, and when they walk in, they're all like, "Dude, what did you do to (insert recent ex-girlfriends name here)? She fucked your car all up!" I'm in complete disbelief, like they're pulling my leg. Sure enough, walk outside and my car is a mess. Brand new car; only had it ~ three months at that time, I think I'd only made one payment. Every square inch is covered in eggs, shaving cream, and who knows what else.

While cleaning it up I realize there's a note under the wiper blade, and nope ... not from my ex. On notebook paper is a multi-paragraph Denis Leary quality rant about what a fat bitch-ass cunt I am and how I'm probably the worst teacher in the history of Lancaster High School.

Was meant for the woman who lived two apartments down from me. I mean, our cars weren't even the same make, model, or color. I can say that having had that teacher myself in high school nine year prior, I remember at the time thinking the letter was almost entirely factually accurate.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Police say a 23-year-old Florida man who was shot by his cousin wasn't wearing a bulletproof vest, but instead had donned a "fragmentation protective vest," also known as a flak jacket.

Tampa police said in a news release that Joaquin Mendez put on the vest late Saturday and "wondered aloud whether it still worked." Police say his 24-year-old cousin Alexandro Garibaldi pulled out a gun and responded, "Let's see."

Officers found Mendez outside the house with a gunshot wound to the chest. He later died at a hospital.

The jacket might not work any more, but looks like Darwin still does.
