Had a friend visit on Saturday. He originally grew up in IN and was in the area to see his family. Was nice to catch up with him as we spent a lot of time together earlier in our careers. Interestingly, he's one of three people that my wife and I both have directly worked with as professionals... The three of us had a nice lunch together.
Anyhow, he's down in FL now. As we were catching up about our kids he mentioned that his daughter has zero intention of staying in FL for college. During the conversation he said, "Oh, 'Florida Man' is a real thing." It was a comment made with respect to why she and candidly, the entire family, wants to get out of FL at some point.
My wife looked puzzled. She said, "Florida man? What's that?"
I pulled up this thread and said, "Florida man... Oh, it's real... and it's marvelous."
It's funny that even down there they have some level of self-awareness.
