Bo Pelini anyone?

Good call! Bo Pelini was the defensive coordinator under Solich and actually served as the interim coach in the bowl game, I believe. He understands the Cornhusker tradition and has a great resume (D-coordinator LSU now) as well as being an OSU grad and former player.....

Many LSU fans are conceding Miles (since his camp is dying to go to UM), but confident in Pelini taking over. It would be interesting to see how that would play out. That also assumes that UM wants Miles, which seems to be very debatable these days.

So did his AD. Didn't do Pederson any good.

Steve Glenn, a Nebraska offensive lineman in the late 1970s, said the firing of Pederson is "the best thing to happen to Nebraska football in 10 years," adding, it "lifts a cloud off the state of Nebraska."
Glenn said he hoped Osborne, 70, would take the interim AD's job.
"What a great man of integrity -- he could do great things for the university," especially if the team has to recruit a new coach, Glenn said.

Absolutely laughable. Osborne may have had integrity early on in his career, yet he clearly sold his soul to the devil in the early nineties to win a NC. Those championship teams were the greatest stain on college football since Switzer's time. Does anyone care to remember Christian Peters, Lawrence Phillips, or half a dozen others that were coddled and allowed to remain part of the program not to mention the obstruction of justice accusations towards Osborne that came out of the local DA's office.

Memo to Steve Glenn: winning =/= integrity!

As far as I'm concerned, what's happening to them now is simply a cosmic reckoning for the sins of the 90s.

I can count a good 12 IA coaches who should probably be gone by Dec. 31. Who are the up and coming head coaches that are going to get looks? Is it too soon for Kelly at UC? Among coordinators, Bo Pelini is a name that gets tossed around a lot, but I am not sure who everyone would be in a rush to get.

I forgot about Schiano. We might also want to throw Dennis Erickson on the list if ASU keeps rolling. Ron Prince has had some big wins at K-State, in particular wins over Texas, which will impress the AtM folks.

What Arkansas does will be a real mystery. Maybe they'll go pick up Gus Malzahn.

Nebraska and their fans do not tolerate losing very well. That is the only sport that the whole State has.

Calahan is done by years end if not sooner. Firing Pederson was just a prelude for what is to come. How in the world could he even think about extending a coaches contract who hasn't even proved himself worthy by winning.

My guess is he's waiting on Penn St. to open up.
I'm guessing that occurs over Tom Bradley's dead body. I'd hate to think Bradley has turned down a few dozen HC offers elsewhere waiting out the Penn State job, and not wind up getting it.

If Schiano ever left Rutgers, it would have been for the 'Canes last year.

My money is still on Schiano.

I think Callahan will be first, many more to follow. What would Nebraska fans give to have a 10-3 season again?

Arkansas fans seem to have a much higher opinion of their program than its history would dictate, I think Nutt has done a decent job there, certainly no worse than the program is used to, weren't they in the SEC Conference Championship last year?

An in-law of mine wrote me last night (in response to my email) that he didn't think Nebraska would let Callahan go, because it would cost the university half a million. Personally, I think that's a small price to pay to get rid of refuse.

Btw, for those who are interested, here's a cool link for coaching hot seats (notice who's the least hot):
