HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

I think (and hope) Coach is comfortable being himself going forward, the tough guy act was weird but clearly driven by what he thought was necessary to beat Michigan. I don't think the cheating on scUMs end helped with the psychological end of things either.

Seemed like he was forcing himself to be something he wasn't, and it was bleeding into his coaching style, getting away from the things that made him successful. Being tough is great, and nothing shows toughness more than kicking ass against top 10 teams for a whole month. Most importantly, he did it his way.

Excited to see what Day does going forward, I think he's exactly where he's supposed to be. What a month, and what a future (and present) for OSU football.

The single biggest thing I will praise Day for (piecing together what I have read from player interviews) isn't actually winning the thing. He's always had the talent on hand and coaching acumen to do that. It's the growth I think happened for Day as a leader.

I read players say they had it out behind closed doors, players only and Day. In said meeting they had "hard conversations" and Day "stood there and took it".

If those are true statements then the growth of Day as an actual leader is impressive. Not many people can sit there and take really pointed criticism from the troops. You not only have to be humble enough to take it, you have to be so very mission driven that you are willing to take it and then use it for change (not as a point of argument) that few men can do it. You see that as a troop and you'll follow because you know the old man's heart is in the right place. He's there to do whatever he has to do to accomplish the mission, just like you.

Obviously the fact they had to go through that exercise means it wasn't quite right before that but he got it right and there is a lot more to it than than simple statement can convey.

I think the opposite happened. Them winning games they shouldn't have sowed seeds of doubt into what he was doing and got him to second guess himself to his detriment. Hopefully this Natty is how Ryan got his groove back and he can return to the confident coach we saw against them in 2019

We've been on both sides of thish. Which would you rather:

2006: #1 vs #2 and beat the fuck out of TCUN but lose the National Championship.
2024: lose to unranked TCUN in epic upset, but win the National Championship.

Before you say both; no shit. But that's not the question.. you have experienced both of these, so which would you rather?

TCUNs cheating and the expansion of the post season has ruined the rivalry in many ways. Fuck them for disrespecting The Game. They should be treated like Penn State from now on, IMHO, some wannabe rival.

Matt Wilhelm made a great point on the Tim May Show earlier this week.

Said he gets asked at least weekly about his National Championship ring, if he wears it, can he show it, how big is it, etc.

Said he almost never gets asked about his gold pants.

This is foreign to me. I feel like if there were ever a real life invasion of body snatchers, this would be my litmus test to know if any Buckeye was a dirty other-worlder.

B1G, National, and otherwise titles are fun. Lots of fun. I want one every year. Badly.

I feel horrible for her as well, but it all makes sense now. My advice to anyone in a similar situation is to delete the social media, not engage further down the rabbit hole. Remember, the best revenge is, and always will be, living well.

I get that. I even respect it. Anyone can prioritize the goals as they see fit.

For me it's 1A Natty and 1B scUM.

I also think it's abundantly clear where the players and coaches land on this...

I want to beat them down but that's mostly cause 1. Growing up in the cooper years 2. Harbaugh and his "culture" are a bunch of self important assholes who try to start shit then pretend their shit don't stink
