I'm not sure if it has or hasnt, but I certainly agree he's more than earned the BOTD, at least for some time. I wouldn't be confident in saying the game has passed him by completely, but two years is really all it takes, see Urban's 2016 offense.

I think it's an odd situation where the two sides (both the concerned and the unconcerned) are both "right" in a way, hopefully we get the answer we're looking for come playoff time.

After his players had a freaking mutiny following the loss to TTUN.

And he followed up that brilliant four game stretch with the most boring, slow, plodding version of an Ohio State offense i have ever witnessed. at least there was a method to Jim Tressel's madness; he always went balls out at the end of the season. the 2025 Buckeyes couldn't even get out of first gear.

No one is saying he needs to win every single game. what we're asking for is for him to not look like he just swallowed a door knob any time he coaches against a team with a pulse. And yes, I'm aware that they beat Indiana a couple weeks ago. 2026 Indiana is NOT 2025 Indiana.

Agreed.

I’d guess there have been some seriously uncomfortable conversations had in the WHAC the past few days.

BUT I also thought I saw some exasperation.

Maybe after he was done screaming at some of them he realized they just can’t do any better and no matter how mad he gets, he’s fucked?

Hard to tell but the thought crossed my mind.

Don't get me wrong. I still think he's an excellent coach. I just don't think he's an excellent HEAD coach.
