HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

I don't see 2-3 more losses at all. Everyone else on the schedule has bigger issues than Ohio State's biggest issue which is getting out of their own way.
I am glad your still optimistic, but the matter of fact is OSU is 6-4 in their last 10. This team is completely mid. This is probably about the 15th-18th best team in the nation, if we are being honest. Problems everywhere.

I do think if we can get Timmons back, we can probably go 9-3. But it is gut check time for these guys , including Day. If Day goes 8-4 and looses THE GAME God help him.

There is no we. We're just fans, not members of the team. 10-2 is still on the table. This wasn't the 2021 National title game against Bama or a 2008-esque ass ripping by USC.

Ohio State helped USC more than USC did anything. Bad penalties, drops, unconscionable play calling on 1st and 3 inches, piss poor tackling had a lot more to do with things.

It's very easy to be negative and this fanbase excels at it. In a lot of ways it's kinda lazy to just say this team sucks, it has problems etc and to pretend like everyone else is better.

There just aren't even 10 teams better on the talent scale, even with Ohio State's problems and there sure as hell aren't 15 or 18 or whatever number north of 10 you want to throw out there, the day after a game, when you're still upset, etc.

It comes down to the coaches putting the players in a better position to succeed, and then the players have to execute. It's that simple.

Well, the sky has fallen. It’s been nice knowing you all but I can’t go on. I’m jumping now.

I mean it. There’s nothing else more important in my life. The exploits of 18-21 year olds is all I have. I’m standing on my bed with a rope. Don’t try to talk me down.
Even the Emo kids are embarrassed by how some supposed adults are acting

Only thing I can take away is that I honestly think the west coast trip probably affected team execution quite a bit. We've seen it time and again how traveling coast to coast, more often than not, drastically affects level of play from B1G teams.

Hopefully it drastically affects Oregon's play next week

This was so much like one of Urban's head scratching regular season losses.
See I'm not even so sure about that. It seemed like during those games, the team seemed to completely forget how to play football and the games themselves weren't competitive.

This was much more like 2018 against Maryland or 2021 against Oregon to me.

I’m not saying Day is Cooper, but he gives Cooper vibes in games like these. Maybe I just have Cooper PTSD, but the look on Days face is all I need. Day’s facial expressions and body language don’t project confidence.

I’m sure Day thought bringing in two highly experienced Coordinators would allow him to focus elsewhere. Unfortunately it hasn’t clicked and just isn’t working. The lack of in game adjustments is mind boggling.

I guess we’ll see how it goes for the rest of the season, but I would think we need changes in at least 4 coaching positions.

I'm in no panic, Mike80 is right, last night was a mess, but not a complete domination by any means.

I will say, unpopular opinion or not, I'm a little skeptical about Day going forward in this changing landscape of college football (and no, I am NOT in the fire Day crowd). Everything's still on the table so he'll have the opportunities to change my current thoughts.

Urban straight up got pounded raw and sideways by Iowa and Purdue.

This game is a situation where if you didn't watch and looked at the box score you'd be confused how they managed to lose by 2 scores.

In retrospect the game had started passing Urban up a couple of years before his actual departure.

If Day was Cooper he woulda lost to Indiana too and we'd already be eliminated from playoff contention. Day has done more than enough in his career to avoid any serious Cooper comparisons.

I think Bob Stoops, though not an Ohio State coach is a more appropriate comparison. He's a good coach but he's at the point now where something just isn't ticking right in the more crucial games

This is fair. I am definitely being a glass half empty kind of guy right now. I am just looking at Texas, and USC losses. Both of those teams are fringe top 25 teams right now.... i do agree, especially the Texas game, that the coaching has been horrendous at times. How did we looks so unprepared yesterday after a bye week? WTF!

Also, I agree that we have top ten talent, but that talent is very very young. Also OSU lost their starting QB. Thats why I say probably about 15-18...

Timmons is probably the 2nd best player on the team, get him back and maybe we will be top 10 again this season. I believe we win that game last night if he's healthy. All that wide open shit in the middle of the field, he would have shut down. Also a great blitzer.

Ehh maybe...a lot of that crap over the middle was simply because no one was in position to stop it. That feels schematic to me. Timmons is probably a top-4 dude on the roster, I agree, but he's going to do what his coaches tell him to do as part of the scheme.

It's possible whoever was playing was so far out of position that it looked intentional (like it was part of the plan), but I sorta doubt it. It happened too many times, remember Maiava missed his TE straight down the seam on their 2nd drive that would have probably scored another long TD, but he missed him.

I feel like dudes being comically wide open but the other team just screwing it up has been a thing for most of this season. I mean look at the Texas game, they left at least 10 points on the board because of 2 drops
