It may not have been that way by the stats, but if this team has any pride in what it does on defense, this performance will be a catalyst to something better, at least when it comes to the tackling portion.

Im at the "hopefully being on the brink of not being in the playoff lights a fire under the players asses and they start really performing despite less than desirable schemes" level of hopium. I don't really expect these former NFL knuckleheads to change their ways, I don't think it's in their DNA.

6 days and about 14 hours til we find out give or take.

I do think there are some positives to build on today. I don't think Fahey was overwhelmed and I do think the offensive line progressed some in the right direction. 200 yards rushing when it was known they had to run the ball was a nice thing at least.

I think Fahey's chemistry with Smith, McCuin (if he's ok) and hopefully Inniss is back next week will only get better as they get more reps.

200 rushing yards and out gaining USC by well over 100 yards yet still managing to lose by 2 scores just shows even more how bad this game was mismanaged in certain situations. If you told me before this game that we would run for 200 yards id assume we'd win easily by 2+ scores.

But yea im not worried about Fahey going forward. So thats a positive

Lack of efficiency on offense, this is on Smoth.

Defense giving up bg plays( I think USC’s TD drives were 4 plays or less. This is on Patricia.

Entire team looked like dog shit, this is on day.

Suffered some costly penalties as well inside the red zone that completely screwed up any momentum we had.

This is the worst game I have seen in years. I didn’t even watch most of the game to know that this was a disaster.

I see 2-3 more losses this year. Hoping to win The Game and call it a season at this point. There is no promise that I saw out of anyone tonight.

I don't see 2-3 more losses at all. Everyone else on the schedule has bigger issues than Ohio State's biggest issue which is getting out of their own way.

I'm coping by remembering how awful west coast trips are. A ridiculous stat from '24 was that teams traveling multiple time zones went a combined 6-22, and 3-11 on the West coast specifically. Don't have 2025 on hand. West coast trips against teams that are good+ are a nightmare.

There's a lot to be concerned about, but this is not a great game you can use to project the rest of the season. Need to see Fahey at home with more time to work with the offense.
