HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

Because the Michigan QB won it for them in 2016 & 2013.

There's no justification for losing this game. I'm not in that business.

My only point is Urban himself is not good enough for OSU fans. Not the version they enjoyed at OSU, and definitely not the broken one you'd get now (or the one they fired).

When you realize that, you'll realize how poor the odds are in replacing Day with someone better. This is nothing like firing Holtmann. The exact system is inches away from a NC.

The CURRENT team is in the top-3 odds for a NC, despite that performance. That's how close they are now.
they're top-3 odds to win the CFP because Las Vegas is in the business of taking money from suckers.

Auerbach tweeting that it's a 100K fine by the B1G for both schools. I'm sure that there'll be a league or ncaa rule by next season about flag planting or any other on field celebrations by visiting teams after a game. I'm OK with that. Just nip it in the bud.

Big Ten fines Michigan, Ohio State $100K each for role in melee

The Big Ten fined Michigan and Ohio State $100,000 each on Sunday for their football programs' roles in the postgame melee following the Wolverines' stunning 13-10 upset of the No. 2 Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium, the league announced.

In a statement, the league said it "considers this matter concluded and will have no further comment." The league doesn't plan to suspend players for their roles in the fight and Michigan and Ohio State officials said no individual discipline is being handed out by them at this time.

In its statement, the Big Ten said the teams violated the league's sportsmanship policy.

"Not only did the actions of both teams violate fundamental elements of sportsmanship such as respect and civility, the nature of the incident also jeopardized the safety of participants and bystanders," the Big Ten statement said.

Ohio State released a statement Sunday saying it respects the Big Ten's decision.

"What happened post-game yesterday was unfortunate," the statement said. "Good sportsmanship is always important in everything we do at Ohio State. Moving forward, we will continue to examine and address our post-game protocols to ensure our student-athletes, coaches, visiting teams and staff safely exit the field."

Yeah for me it’s a short list…

1. Vrabel- who the beat thinks we can land if we offer it.

2. Freeman- he’s a buckeye, he’s young, and his teams do play hard. They’re used to playing a physical brand.

3. Cig- unpopular here it seems but he does win and what he did with Indiana is tremendous. His confidence a lone would shake this program awake vs the teams we need to be awake for.
1.). He hates recruiting and has actually commented that he’s had no interest in coaching college.
2.). If he wasn’t an ex Buckeye he wouldn’t even be getting mentioned.
3.). 64 years old and he’s won but has yet to show that he can beat the upper echelon teams. If he beats Oregon and can make a splash in the playoffs, he would be a short term candidate.

My opinion of course but I just don’t see any of them as viable candidates.

That is an easier question to answer when the team is doing well and the job is not open. Things can change quickly when circumstances shift...can you imagine how pissed off Vrabel was watching Saturday!? Who knows, maybe the imminent NIL/portal (well, hopefully imminent) structure could make for an easier sell.
Could also make it harder to sell. Not only do you have to recruit high school kids but you now almost have to recruit your own players every year. NIL and the transfer portal has made this a necessity.

Eventually that’ll happen regardless so when is the best time for a coach to leave or be fired? If we do it then it has to be right away after the bowl loss and we better have a replacement within 1-3 days.

If we wait until the portal window closes then yes we could be in trouble because kids can leave but then we can’t get kids to transfer in.
You know we have a game in 13 days, right? If we fire Day today, the chaos begins immediately with portal activity.

Yes, the portal also opens Dec 9th….i don’t think many players leave that close to a playoff game. Not meaningful contributors anyways.

But if you fire Day tonight….things could get whacky…it’s too much chaos to introduce at this point in time.

My point is, high level boosters discussed what’s best for program, concluded it’s prob not Day, but he can’t be fired immediately like many of us would like.

It’ll happen after the playoffs.

Might be hard to pull him from BC. He fled the Bucks for that job before he even unpacked his boxes because of the situation with his son.

He will always be aces in my book for the way he shit on "the Paterno people" on his way out the door. That being said, he's in Boston for his son's medical care.

BOB also has an ill son who’s getting treatment in Boston. He’s at BC where he needs and wants to be.
Yes, I know all that (and completely respect it, having a son with a neurological condition myself), and was only half serious. That said, he chose the BC head coaching job over an OC position here, he wasn't choosing between head coach at BC vs Head Coach at tOSU.

Browns fans lmao. You can't have Vrabel he's ours he wants to be in Cleveland actually he loves snow and said he doesn't really care about Ohio State anyway just stop please
I don't think anybody said he doesn't care about OSU. He's just said numerous times that he doesn't want to return to college football. Even at OSU. College period. As for the Browns, he's got a cushy "analyst" type job right now. He would probably be someone they would look at if they fire Stefanski. Vrabel is an NFL guy. If someone offers him a Head Coaching job, he'll take it. whether it's the Browns, the Bears ( who already fired their coach) or someone else.
