Ryan Day has a ~90% loss rate against talent equivalent opponents. The lone win was against Clemson in the 2020 playoffs. For example, Ryan Day won at a higher clip than Urban. However UFM showed up for the games that mattered. Yea he also lost some head scratchers but not a ton.
It’s not that Ryan Day loses games. It’s the games that he does lose.

Punting in that situation sent a message to the offense that Day had zero confidence in them picking up the first. (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS HIS OWN DUMBASS FAULT THAT THE OFFENSE SUCKED.)Valid reasons for wanting to start over IMO. In hindsight yeah we needed to go for it there but the defense is pretty good and TCUN hadn’t done a ton all day. I’m ok with the punt there though in the moment. There was like 7 minutes left once we punted so there’s no reason why we couldn’t get a stop there. Never mind then giving up 35 yard run and then giving them another first down because of too many men on the field.
It always seems like a unit or two fails to perform in the game and cost us.
Today special teams failed with 2 missed FGs, a badly handled kick to start the second half, a punt not fielded that allowed UM to flip the field, and a very short punt giving UM a short field.
We can talk until we’re blue in the face about the run play calling, but for the second year in a row our QB play was extremely lacking. Two egregious picks that cost us points on both ends of the field along with poor throws and tipped passes.
Day was no better with his unstellar clock management and deer in the head lights stare. So many unforced errors and mental mistakes that once again cost us in a big game.
Rumor had it that Gonzo hit Troy in the head with his helmet and told him to stop eating In 'N Out. There may have been some GF drama as well. This game today eerily reminded me of the Florida championship game of 2006, I believe. Something was amiss in that game too, especially after Ginn got hurt. Bunch of rumors swirled after that game about stuff that happened the week headed up to that game, but mods and other Buckeye social media defenders kept diverting the rumors and telling fans they were untrue.
FCS game on now.Now there’s a thought.
We haven't scored 100 combined since he said that. The whole hang 100 comment from Day really comes back to smack him in the face. His offense lack a sense of urgency, are slow to get started and lack aggression. He needs to rethink his approach to games.
The whole get to the fourth quarter comments really irk me. Bury teams from the first series and leave no doubt heading into the 4th.
I forgot about that lol yeah sounds about right smhRumor had it that Gonzo hit Troy in the head with his helmet and told him to stop eating In 'N Out. There may have been some GF drama as well.
The special teams are criminally awful. The claim that it’s hard to find a good college kicker is BS. Plenty of other programs have dudes who can consistently hit from longer range. Our guy struggles from <40.
Heck, a kid from the stands kicked a 30-yarder for a $10,000 scholarship between the 1st and 2nd quarter! The special teams are criminally awful. He seemingly doesn't have a grasp of basic fundamental football matchups, even though he *was* an excellent OC. And he's too stupid to realize when he's being played by his rival. Harbaugh is a cheating scumbag, but he's so deep inside Day's head that it's not even funny. It's tragic.Risk vs Reward. I don't think Ryan Day has a grasp for this concept.
