I subscribed to HBO specifically for this show.

My Grandfather fought in the Pacific front and I had interviewed him while I was taking a class on the subject at tOSU. I have been fascinated with the subject since. Being a History major most of my focus want to the Western front with little knowledge of the events of the Japanese battle until the development of the bomb.
Like Buckyle I trust Hanks and Spielberg to be honest and reliable sources for miniseries.

Keeping all episodes on DVR until DVDs are released. I have a feeling I'll be watching this a few times.

I've watched the first episode three times. Probably three more times this week.

"For those of you lucky enough to see your families this Christmas...hug them extra tight, and pray...for peace on Earth, and goodwill towards all men. Then report back here. We will sail across God's Ocean, confront the enemy...and kill them all."

I just watched the first episode. I have one bad thing to say, it went by way to fast. I'm ready for more! I kind of wish they had done some of the training background like they did with Band of Brothers. I thought that really set the tone for the series.

Is that asshole from American Pie(Stifler) in this movie?
