HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

I felt like Dontre was where Zeke was at the beginning of the year this year. On the verge of making some huge plays, one broken tackle from busting a long one. Zeke got over the hump and exploded, Dontre, unfortunately, got injured. I'm as excited about his upcoming season as anyone on the team. Another year with Mick should pay dividends... C'mon, August!

Trusting in Urban to know how to handle a team with so much depth: Cardale and Barrett at QB, Dontre, Marshall and possibly Miller at HB, Zeke and Samuel at RB. A lot of egos to keep in check and keep moderately happy.

He is another year in the weight room away (to get a little stronger so he can break a few of those arm tackles) from having a HUGE year. A lot of those highlights he is one broken tackle away from turning a nice, routine 6-7 yard run into a home run.

I prefer Wilson moving to Z full-time, personally. I think it fits his skillset better than the H. He would still be eligible for motioning, screens and jet sweeps, but wouldn't have to worry about running between the tackles very often. Ideally, I would love to see Miller (if his shoulder is toast) and Marshall at H, Brown at Big-H, Wilson and Smith at Z, Thomas at X & Samuel and Elliott at RB.

That's a good scenario, I personally would keep Dontre at Pivot(H, or whatever the heck anyone wants to call it) splitting with Marshall and possibly Miller, with Thomas at X and Smith at Z. It's good problem to have, jut a different POV, from what I've seen on the field. And let's not forget about not just Elliott and Samuel at RB, but an interesting 3 way competition for the spare in Weber, Dunn and Ball

Yeah, I respect your opinion and can understand why you would like to see him there. One of the biggest reasons I'd like to see Wilson at a different spot is to get him on the field the same time as Marshall/Miller. It's kind of a silly discussion because I'm sure we'll probably see a bunch of movement among all the offensive skill guys on game day.

And if he loses the QB battle or his shoulder does not recover we will not use him anywhere else? You might want to stop dealing in absolutes in every post. You did the same in insisting that Samuel should get almost all of the carries and then Elliott did what he did. Brax can play multiple positions the same as the other guys listed and the same applies to Dontre. Really looking forward to seeing how we use all of them.

Pretty sure this guy is some sort of friend of Samuel, hence the demonstrative posts related to him.
