HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

Meyer has also listed running back Dontre Wilson as probable for the game (CFP). Wilson broke his foot in a road win at Michigan State in early November and has since been in recovery mode. Ohio State will have their primary rusher in breakout star Ezekial Elliot for the championship game, but it never hurts to add a little depth to the roster when you can, especially when a championship is on the line.

For Dontre's sake, I hope he can and will give it a go on Monday night. But to be honest, I don't see him getting too much PT. Too big of a game to just step back into it after being off the field for a decent period of time. I would love to see him get in there and add another dimension to the offense though. I hope I'm wrong.

If he's healthy you've got to play him even if it's in a limited role. His speed and quickness can cause mismatches. We need all the playmakers we have and DeSoto is one of them.
Especially to give Marshall a blow here and there... You have to think that Marshall on a Jet sweep in the 3rd quarter being fresh is much better than him running a few in the first half then not as much in the second because he's wearing out. It'll be really great to see Dontre out there but my only fear is he will try and do to much and either A) re hurt himself or B) turn the ball

I agree he needs some touches, and I think he'll def get a few if he's as healthy as believed. He's a mismatch just being on the field, as a part of the personnel. Put him in motion across the face of Cardale pre-snap and the Oregon defense pays attention, whether he gets the ball or not. I agree on Wilson spelling Marshall as well. I HOPE Dontre can be a 100% contributor.

Exactly. The Offense needs to wear down the secondary and one way to do that is make them run with the speed guys. They can use him as a decoy as well. Gotta use a talent like Wilson.

Didn't Wilson choose between tOSU and Oregon..a motivated Wilson could be a plus ..Marshall and Lee were my choices for MVP's against Bama and if Marshall would get his Helmet instead of Barry Bonds he might have done it.
:slappy: I didn't get to follow the game thread too closely, so it was probably mentioned and I just missed it, but WTF was going on with that?

That was ridiculous.
