Has a team ever won with field goals, while the other scores at least one touchdown?

This isn't a flame war.

Definition:
A flamewar is a prolonged exchange of deliberately hostile messages over the Internet.

(Which took me all of 0.5 seconds to find using that useless Google contraption).

This is much closer to pissing up your back than a flamewar. We aren't being hostile - we are

This fits everything except the "prolonged". The thread itself isn't the flame war, it's the fact that you're drowning me in negative rep for asking a "stupid" question.

Actually, you should be wondering if you can even score a field goal on us next year.

People are ripping on you because the question could have easily been answered by some simple common sense...
I mean.. Just think about it.. There have been over a hundred years of college football. Throughout those hundred years, there have been over a hundred college football teams playing at least 10 games a year (not that much earlier on, but still at least 9 i think). Do you really think not a SINGLE team has held a team to one TD, but managed to score 3 FG's, and only 3 FG's?

At least after the first few posts you should have realized "oh, heh, that was a stupid question, sorry"...
Sorry if this offends you...

I only asked this after doing some research (Wikipedia and Google), hoping that I'd actually get an answer. I'm not a football buff (I've only been a huge football fan since 2005, before 2005 I actually didn't even know some basic football terminology and rules), so the question may have seemed stupid to all of you, who probably learned all about football and its history growing up, but to me it was a legitimate question. You're talking to a guy who before a couple years ago didn't even know what a two-point conversion was.

And you live where?

Claim you weren't a football fan until 05 and you're telling me to wonder if we can even put a FG on the board against you guys next year? Nice try, Junior.

:slappy: So you're saying there's a good chance of a low-scoring output from a CFB team? BTW, you might want to check the returning offensive roster for OSU.
College football is completely different from the NFL, and I only found ONE example of that happening in the NFL. It's amazing how people can turn a legitimate question into a flame war. Are you sure you people aren't subconsciously seeking revenge for those morons on that YouTube video?
How is that? I realize PSU is new to the conference, but between the tradition of rushing & defense, it's a pretty safe assumption even if you didn't know a single score.

Auburn wins low scoring games like this almost every year. They did this exact feat against arkansas in mid-october vs Arkansas.

I wasn't a hardcore football fan until 2005, before that just one of those casual lukewarm fans who'd watch a bowl game, maybe a regular season game or two. I was a casual football fan growing up, but became a huge fan thanks to the 2005 Penn State season.
