I think hearing someone live is a category into itself.
And I don't own a single Celine CD! :tongue2:

Layne Staley had one of the strongest/most forceful voices that I've ever hear.

No doubt about that. I give him my vote for most unique (in a good way).

We're obviously talking rock and roll here (because classical voices would shred them apart).

I'll vote James LaBrie and Geddy Lee for best vocalists.

I agree completely on judging a vocalist in a live performance...

However, I think I'll let someone else judge Celine Dion...

They played this sappy song at our "Sweetheart" assembly a few years ago...when they told me it was by Savage Garden I thought it was hilarious.

Sounds like a heavy metal band but its this corny loved ballad group.

Totally agree on all 3 actually. It is just sad that Layne had to die so young, although it was his own dumbass fault. Cornell is still awesome to this day.
