Well, I can't comment on basketball games because I haven't played a PS2 B-ball game other than EA's NCAA College 2005 game, but football wise I've bought every NCAA Football game since '98 and a few Madden games.
In NCAA Football you can do similar things with the players, ie. make a 350 lbs RB who is 5 feet tall....and then give them tiny arms with no muscle ( or a ton of muscle ). We used to do stuff like that all the time in the game for fun, outrunning everyone with a 300+ lbs guy is pretty funny to watch. It may not give you "hersey kiss" like customability, but you can play around with it a little. At any rate, NCAA Football is a great game on its own, in some ways its better than Madden.
My buddies and I play that game to this day. It's in my NES right now actually. This is definitely my favorite game to play multiplayer on the Nintendo by a landslide.

Ahh, good to see Base Wars is alive and kicking. I used to love playing as New York, for some reason I was killer with the 3rd baseman named Black. Whenever he was up to bat, he often hit home runs, and anytime my little brother came to third base and I had the ball, I'd beat him down and he was out :slappy:I'm sure it was more of a mental thing than anything, after awhile my brother was probably afraid of going to 3rd base and maybe he'd choke and get beat up. He also started walking Black everytime he was up to bat :lol:

I cannot believe I forgot to post my favorite game. My favorite game is Archon it's kind of like a battle chess type of game. It doesn't have the greatest graphics and there are probably better games but I have never had more fun playing any other game.

Yes very true the game had everything. Even the sound was pretty good for the game. Plus if you started getting bored with it like you said they had that space game between periods and it was really fun. I have to say though it was great to fight in that game because it made it really fun. Did you have a favorite team that you played as? I think I always played as Edmonton...whatever team was blue/green in color...teal I guess would be the proper name for the damn color.

Archon was a great game. Archon 2 was probably even better, as it was a little more balanced, I think.
