The Gophers are still looking to add more talent and could still sign another player or two. They are also awaiting word on Graham Glasgow, a 6-foot-7, 310-pound left tackle from Aurora (IL) Marmion Academy. Glasgow visited Michigan yesterday and is also considering Minnesota and Ohio State as a preferred walk-on.
Glasgow comes from a football family. His father, Steve, played defensive tackle at Penn and his younger brother, Ryan, is a 6-foot-3, 255 pound junior guard/defensive end.
Marmion Academy head coach Dan Thorpe said that Glasgow will likely make his decision this week.
"He has done a good job with his homework," said Thorpe. "He knows how many offensive linemen Minnesota has returning, how many Michigan has returning and Ohio State. He has put a ton of thought into it and he will make a very mature decision with the data and information. It is not going to be an emotional decision by any means. The family and him want to wrap this up within the week, I'm sure."
Thorpe said that Glasgow has ties with Kill.
"Graham's father and mother (Drs. Steven and Michele Glasgow) are the team doctors for Northern Illinois," said Thorpe. "They know Jerry Kill very well. Jerry Kill makes men. You guys got a great one there. You are not going to have to be patient very long. He'll make a difference already. I saw Jerry's introduction and Jerry Kill is very creative. It doesn't surprise me. I love Jerry Kill and I'd love to have Graham play for Jerry Kill."

Seriously, there have been comments made to the effect that a "preferred walk-on," or variously "a walk-on who took an official visit," must be put on scholarship if they ever play in a varsity contest. I believe this to be an urban legend, since no one has provided a quote of nor a link to the NCAA rule that would require this.TheStoicPaisano;1872597; said:I remember some discussion (surrounding Jon Thoma) where walk-ons who've made an official visit are automatically converted to scholarship once they play in a varsity contest.
