Golf on August 19th

I'm getting better too. Saturday I went to the driving range with my grandfather and hit about 110 balls. Mostly with the 5 iron but I did use the driver a little bit... until I broke it. I was scared to death when I saw the head of the driver flopping in the air, I thought my Grandpa was going to beat me to death with the wedge that he had in his hand :lol:

Last night SnG and I played 9 holes at a golf course right down the road from where we live. That was a good time and I had a couple nice shots. I do have to point out that SnG lost a lot more balls than I did. He must've lost 5-8 of 'em... it was hilarious :rofl:

That reminds me to get that day off now. I am definitely there!

The head of the driver busted off? Reminds me when I was 22 and still using my clubs I had since I was 14. My 5 Iron head flew off at a driving range and then that weekend my 7 iron head flew off and then later off the tee my 3 iron went swimming with the fishes on hole 16 into the water at Thunder Hills.

Needless to say I bought new clubs later that week.

The guy behind us had to be royally pisssed at us... there were times that we were looking for SnG's ball for about 10 minutes :lol:

The head of the driver didn't just come off.... The shaft broke about 4 or 5 inches above the head and it all went flying. All I had left in my hands was a half of a driver. It looked pretty expensive too. I thought I was dead meat :lol:

Most of the bigger name club makers will fix or replace broken clubs.

Remind me not to let SIMV borrow any of my clubs :biggrin:

That also reminds me I have a "special" club in my golf bag, my dad's old 2 iron. My dad wrapped his club around a tree and busted it up pretty good. So he shorted the club to be about 3 foot long that me and my brothers used when we were young. But my dad always kept it in the bag just in case he was under a tree and he would use it as a utility club.

It's in my bag now and it works great on severe hills and to punch balls out from under the trees. I'll let SnG & SIMV use it for their army golf adventures in the trees. :p

I heard of a female golfer wanting to join a foresome. She may a little absent minded about wearing underware, however I'm sure she can putt with the best of them. Besides watching her bend over to mark and/or tee up her ball could be worth the cost of the green fees. Any takers?
