Get enough cans of this to fog the place tonight, on your way to work. When everyone leaves tonight, make sure all the windows are closed and fog the place for overnight.

Air the place out tomorrow when you arrive at work and be astonished at how many friends of your tormentor are littering the floor.

In tropical African cities, one has to do this about once every six months. In Cape Town it's a Mediteranean climate, so we do it about once every two years and we set one off in our attic every year. It's always amazing how many bugs are around if you are in a place where this hasn't been done before.

Alternatively, find one of these. It's messy but eventually the bugs move out.

Sandgk is right, it sounds like a house centipede. Living in a somewhat older house in PA, we occasionally get them in our home during the summer/fall. They are basically harmless, but could fucking luck trying to catch it. They are fast as can be. And once you have it cornered it will go into hiding. Unfortunately, the best thing to do is to wait it out, it will come back out eventually. But make sure you kill it good on the first try, or it will haul ass again and you'll never get it. Good luck with that. :)
