Stephon Morris is on the Buckeye Radar (game tapes) !! He has been a 3 year starter at E.R. High School in Greenbelt Md. ER produces 3-4 D1 players every year. And Stephon Morris will be "The Best" DB coming out of the Md/DC/N.VA area in "08". Also, not sure if any of you guys have ever played HS or College ball, but its damn hard to cover 1 on 1 in those types of drills. Yes, he did get tripped up on one but like any good DB he got up and made up the ground.And the other he bit on the post, but recovered w/ a nice tight turn !!

That's reflected in Ohio State's style of play, and it's definitely reflected in the way the Buckeyes recruit. Ohio State doesn't rush to send out 100 offers like other schools. OSU is very selective about who it offers. It truly means a lot to get a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes because they don't just offer everybody.

That was my pointe when i brought up morris a while back in this thread. His recovery speed is second to none and i played high school football and it's damn hard to cover guys one on one. Especially at a combine event like the rivals event he was at. There were a ton of great athletes. I would love to see him get a long look from the staff. He's a very interesting prospect, but a little undersized in height but not in weight. Could be a under the radar offer that the buckeyes seem to offer every year. Ala zach domincone, travis howard, chimdi checkwa etc. And we have been recruiting the maryland/D.C area alot harder recently. Maybe Flash Thomas can let tressel know about this kid. Probably doesn't get offer unless he comes to camp either way I love this prospect.

Evaluating talent by a current Ohio State player

I have a question regarding the evaluation of talent and "official offers". Do the Ohio State coaches ask current players come especially this year's freshman, who they might have had difficulty playing against or who they thought gave them problems on the field last season if they played against them. Example would be one of the coaches ask a current OL, say Adams or Brewster, what DL gave them problems last year if they played against them last season. The same would hold true of asking one of the "new" wide receivers or defensive backs who might have given them problems.

I guess I am just curious as to whether the coaches would ask one of their players for their evaluation of a current high school senior or possibly even junior.

I'm not "In the know", but I'd say probably not because those guys are more focused on winning the game than evaluating the talent across from them.

Also, question about speed recruits. Is it just me, or is the '09 class the fastest in a long time? Is it just tOSU recruiting more speed, combines & such helping trim down 40 times, or has there always been this much speed?

yes. I brought up chris wells during his freshmen year to my brother-in-law and he passed it on but, they already knew he was a FREAK. Most x-players do pass on any good news about any player worth checking out .
