General Recruiting Discussion and Tangents (Merged)

Just an observation, but we seem to pushing the envelope, to get kids to jump on board...

This class could be well in the books by the time the season roles around...I say we have at least 20 commits by our first game, and then Newsome and Hall we know will wait but we are good there, and then we wait on guys like Berry, McGee, Boyd, Debose, Evans, Brown, Adams etc...

How do you mean exactly?

(Only asking because "pushing the envelope" can be taken quite a few diferent ways and not all of them are positive...just hoping a clarification will forestall the cliff jumpers. )

I guess that didn't sound right...Good thing that Pryor recruitment is over and someone doesn't get ahold of that quote...

Just meaning that they are wanting the kids to end it early or get left behind...

Gotta catch all the playoffs...
yeah and I'm getting all worked up over gay marriage... might have to make you drive tomorrow :p

Joe should have some reviews from the Cinci combine tomorrow. He's only sending it to people who donated in the spring drive though :p

edit: I guess you can't send it to yourself. I also wonder how many would know who 'joe' was anyway without the exchange.

Football prospects get noticed

By Paul Honda
[email protected]

This time, there was no heartbreak for Mana Rosa.

In fact, on this visit to Oahu, there was no sense of defeat in a state-tournament football game for the Baldwin defensive end. This time, Rosa flew to Oahu for an opportunity to brighten his promising future even more.
Rosa was among a dozen or so high school football prospects who gathered at Kapolei High School yesterday to meet with longtime high school football writer Tom Lemming.
"I wanted to get more exposure and have a really good experience," said Rosa, who was one of the Maui Interscholastic League's top defensive players. He has since grown to 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds. Lemming, a national prep football guru, is the point man for Prep Football Report magazine, available Aug. 1 at bookstores. He also hosts a weekly TV program called "Generation Next" on CBS Sports.
(continued)

Just wanted to let everyone know where the Lemming was...

Just got a offer from Penn St. and Louisville. Next up will be Tenn. Also, will be taking a visit to Knoxville with in the month......
Stephon Morris the maryland db just commited to Penn State. He's like the 4th db from maryland to commit to them this year. Nice video of him on rivals at the state college Nike combine. However i was most impressed with corey brown. He has nice hips, he's real physical out of the press, and has good ball skills.:oh::io:

I believe that Penn State's 9 commits breakdown into 4 offensive linemen and 5 defensive backs.
I was just saying that they have 4 db's commited from the state of maryland in there class. I was aware of the other commits, just pointing out the four maryland db's. Since they just got a commit from Stephon Morris.

Your right not much balance, half there class is going to be made up from two positions. If you look at TOSU we have 2 DB'S, 5 LB'S (two of them could play fullback), 1 DE, 2 WR, RB, 2 OL, AND 1 DT. Thats a night and day difference between the two programs. Not to mention we are getting much better talent than they are. And they can't keep the top players from pennsylvania in-state. Only two of their commits are from pennsylvania and outside of shrive and givens they have no big time recruits. And our class is only a little more than half way filled. And we still need 1-2 TE'S, 1-2 RB'S, and possibly a QB. changes need to be made in happy valley, they have never been able to compete in the big ten on a regular basis. And there only hurting the perception of the big ten as a weak conference by being mediocre year after year.:oh::io:
