Oh my.
<Apologies if this has already been quoted in the past few weeks, but I didn't want to read the entire thread to find out.>

Smith has to go, he is the head of this department and there is no excuse for whats going on. I don't know if OSU thinks keeping him will mitigate the penalties or what, but he has to go.

You know that hot dog QB that wore #2 and spent his 3 years taking instead of giving. We would have preferred to keep the coach and lose the distractions.

I'll tell you right now that one of the catalysts for his being forced out before the ncaa report was a group of numerous prominent alumni outside of Ohio telling Gee and the board that they would find it very difficult to take part in the upcoming campaign unless this mess started to be cleaned up swiftly.
Among my (admittedly unscientific) sampling of alumni (not fans)--both those in Chicago and friends from school scattered around the country--almost nobody thought he deserved to keep his job, with many wanting him fired after the initial press conference.
To say that 99.9999% of the fanbase is supportive of JT seems --without proof--a lot like you projecting your own opinion onto the entire fanbase.
