I, for one, do not like this idea. Through no fault of his own, AG could be exposed to the exact same situation as JT, Andy G or GS.

Call me what you will, but I don't see the problems of big time D1 athletics going away anywhere until the system is changed. Even then it may still be a very dark world. Personally, I do not want Archie's legend to be held in the hands of a bunch of 17-22 year old kids who are easily lead into poor decisions.

I wish I were more optimistic on this topic. That's all I've got.

I agree - I wouldn't want Archie to take the AD job and potentially have his reputation damaged by being in charge of a very difficult situation that could get messy again.

I agree, but not just for that reason. Frankly, I have been disappointed with his performance as president of the alumni association, but it least it won't get our athletic programs on probation (or worse).

Archie worked under Andy and in my opinion there are very few people that can walk in from the outside and understand the size and make up of this job. Archie can handle it and seen the good from the bad. I prefer someone with Ohio roots rather than ND. Archie's legacy on the field is always intact and bring him in and help clean this mess up would add more to his legacy and Ohio State..

Exactly my point... Unless there are fundamental changes in the system or kids, the problem doesn't go away. No way am I in favor of putting Archie out there on that limb... The thought that his reputation for what he has done on the field would not be tarnished in such an event is a nice theory... A theory that isn't worth testing.

If Gene leaves, I would be more in favor of doing what Michigan did. Bring in an alum with Corporate experience (CEO, COO). Sometimes a different view of the situation is needed. We also need better PR. This whole event has gotten blown out of proportion. OSU administration looks pretty bad at dealing with a crisis. :(
