Gene Smith (Former AD, ‘10 AD of the Year, '13 NAAC Organizational Leadership Award)

Georgia got axed because of the supposed B1G/PAC-12 challenge that never materialized. Not much Gene could do.
The schedule is what it is. It's not Ohio State's fault the rest of the conference sucks.

Good call on the cancellation of the Georgia series, so I looked it up and put the link below:

Except that was out in 2020.

In the end, the out of conference schedule has one person who controls it, Gene Smith.

Ohio State is 70th in non-conference strength of schedule:

tOSU was 75th last year in non-conference SOS.

That cannot be blamed on the B1G. Cal dropping may be a partial excuse, but in my mind, certainly not all of it.

Re: USA Today’s Dan Wolken wrote....And given how the Committee on Infractions has ruled on the last several big football cases, Ohio State's decision to take a 6-6 team to the 2011 Gator Bowl rather than self-impose a postseason ban will go down as one of the biggest misjudgments in college athletics history.
