* Running back who is better than Reggie Bush, but is only 3rd-4th string on Texas.--Mililanibuck.

And exactly who made this statement?? Oh yeah, Findlay did. Maybe you should find out what you're talking about before replying.

thats interesting, i've heard from many texas fans that everyone in their seconday runs a 4.2-4.3, and that they think he wont be much of a factor. im not saying everyone on here is saying it but alot of longhorn fans on other boards also.

texasize you have to understand, us buckeyes havent heard anything wrong from texas practice yet, its all been so positive and optimistic that i think alot of us are fed up with it. the linebackers better this year, things of that nature im sure 100% of us fans would agree with mililani.

That is very nice of Mack brown to be handing out Kuddos on one of the Buckeye players. He reminds me of Lou Holtz and how he was always use to praise the other teams up and down, but rest assured he has some tricks of his own, up his sleeve I can guarantee you that. Texas is loaded and probably one of thier best teams in years. The way they played Michigan in the RoseBowl was impressive. Vince Young will tuck it in and take for yardage if his recievers will not be open. His arm strength is not all that great but his decision making will be a factor in the game with OHio State.

I understand. Note in my post earlier, I only stated that the defense looked solid. I try & post about who/what I've seen personally. Here's some negatives for y'all to mill over.... I don't think we'll beat you with Selvin at HB. I don't think the KO/Punt coverage will be any better than last year. We won't have a FG kicker at all. We won't have much of a passing game again(other than Thomas) unless Finley and Shipley are in the game.

I personally dont see him gaining much yardage on the ground against us. He has the skills, but we have the defense to stop him. Many Hiemsan worthy abcks (of all kinds) have been shut down by OSU defenses in the past and it wont change this time around. He threw 10 INTS last eyar, leading his team to the 106th ranked passing squad in the NCAA. He also doesnt have their featured runniungback to option to unlike last year. Make no mistake about it, Texas is talented, but I dont see him causing too harm on the ground. He better get that passing game of his together because I know Tressel is too smart not to put a spy on him (possibly Freeman?).

Calling Charles a 3rd or 4th String may seem accurate, but he is a true freshman, and Brown was not going to annoint him a starter over Selvin and Ramonce, who are both pretty solid. Put anybody behind this line and they will look good, a la Denver Broncos-ish. Charles is a stud, no doubtand he will be a great RB when he does get his shot. My guess is that he will get sig. playing time against NTexas to test him out. Melton will get some touches also, especially in short yardage situations. Mack is notorious for not playing Freshmen, but Benson ran for over a thousand yards his freshman year, granted our RBs ahead of him at that time weren't all that strong. On a related note, Selvin quit speaking to reporters as he told them that he has to concentrate on winning the starting RB job. That just tells me that Charles is pushing him. I don't think of Ramonce as a starting tailback, and I think Selvin is scared of someone else, most likely Charles. So 3rd or 4th string is not accurate.

by the way, it appears as if the Shrubbery-like Ramonce Taylor touched the ball twice today in the scrimmage, and scored two TDs. While that is exciting news, its not too great that one of the TDs came on a kickoff return. Love those special teams.

Finally, as for the stirring the pot comment, I would be willing to replace all of our LBs with your LBs, except maybe Harris for Schlegel, all that is a tough call as well. I would take Your Booty to start at one corner, I would take Holmes and Ginn as our starting WRs, and I guess I would take Ginn as our PR. After that I am sticking with what we got.

I don't understand this comment. The coverage team on that kick was the scout team and the ball was intentionally kicked to Ramonce so he could put on a show. It's not a big surprise that the walkons have trouble tackling him.

The first team kick team had a kick 6 yards deep returned to the 13 (would probably not be returned in a game) and the other kick was out the back of the end zone.
