S-n-G.... Henry Melton is his name. He's been very impressive in practice so far. Y'all may not even see Selvin by 9/10. May be Melton 6'3"/275/4.6 and Jamaal Charles 6'1/190/sub4.4. Melton is a wrecking ball with wheels. Charles has ankle breaking moves and is a national level track star. R. Bush-like but a better running back. It will be interesting to see who emerges as the #1. I'd say Charles will start against y'all. Just my feeling.

thanks for the info, you have to respect a 275 lb running back, freshman or not. its interesting to hear about jamaal charles, i havent heard talk of him being a starter yet. its also been interesting that im the first to mention melton, a big back behind a big o-line like texas can give any defense problems.

i know rankings dont matter but im curious, what was he rated by rivals?

Melton was the 7th ranked athlete of '05. I've seen Charles play live on numerous occasions & he's amazing. No doubt in my mind Charles will be known nationally after this season...if Mack lets the fish play. They're both excellent pass blockers as well. Hopefully we can see them get out there early this year, not after RRS.

normally the running back doesnt block but really just chips the larger d-lineman, i dont see melton doing that he could act as a 6th offensive lineman for gods sake., hows he carry those 275 lbs? what makes jamal lewis so good is his footwork, does this guy have some moves or is it just a brick house coming straight up the line.

I've never see Melton play, just been told about some of the things he's been doing in practices. Heard he's taken some vicious hits and also dealt out some evil punishment. I've heard he's light on his feet, but he's definitely a line-mover .At 4.6 speed , that's a lot to stop if he gets going. Can't say for sure, I haven't witnessed him first hand, yet.

If you know anything about Mack Brown's tenure at The University of Texas then you would know the chances of Mack starting a freshman running back before the 2nd Saturday of October is exactly 0%.

Can we add this to the list of reasons why Mack Brown never seems to beat Oklahoma?

I have already admitted it is very possible we could lose in the "Preview the Score Thread" or whatever it was called. I just don't think it happens. Regardless, I've only seen one or two of you do the same.
Well, yeah. Of course we're not saying that the Bucks will lose to Texas. We're that way because we're assholes though - we're that way because we're right... and because we're assholes. As for the one or two exceptions... They must have gotten into the "orange" paint chips. They will be rehabilitated.

Not to re-hash nightmares, but we've lost to Wisky twice now in the last 2 years. They broke our 19 game streak in '03, and dodged a live bullet this year. Barry Alvarez is smart enough to realize he was gonna get it back, and didn't want much of it. I wish JT had another shot at him.

how is that relevant? I don't remember the above tub doing anything against us

You're right hookem, you don't have a single healthy WR that can catch a ball in two straight practices, but you wouldn't want Holmes, Ginn, Gonzalez (or even backups like Hall and Lyons who don't drop balls). You wouldn't want any of th ebest LBers in the nation. You wouldn't want a corner who shut down two straight AA wrs, including edwards, a guy who walked ALL over you. You wouldn't want one of our stud kickers, since you don't even have a guy who can put it in the endzone consistently, let alone kick field goals. You're right, you only want 1 or 2.

i read on rivals that one texas fan was bringing heat with him because he didnt know how our fans would treat them
he's gonna spend a lot of money to not get into the game. Maybe that works down in austin, but up here we have tight security.

btw, great work making bootlegged copies of the texas game. Are these distributed online on fan sites? No wonder brown had to shut down practices. OU coaches wouldn' even have to send spies, you very well might bring the material to them.

Rushing TDs don't change the fact that VY has not proven he can avoid throwing picks. Completion percentage is worthless if you are turning the ball over. When Vince has never passed well in a game that required him to pass, then you have no business saying he's a better passer than Smith who had only one game whee he threw INTs, and two of those hit the WRs in the hands.
