Don't hold me to this, but I think the unnamed OL is guard Will Allen. Yeah, it won't hurt us too much. Guard is the deepest position on an already deep offensive line.

Killebrew will hurt though.

Kelson's big for a safety (~215 lb). He might make the move to LB.

from espn insider so take it for what its worth but i thought that this echoed the reason that everyone is so pumped for this game. The ranks can be debated but the fact that we are both mentioned is great.(also the list flat out omits lsu, aggy, alabama, and auburn so there are definatly some faults.)

Top Game Day Venues

This week's list comes in response to one of the questions I get asked most often: what school has the best game day environment? Criteria includes stadium, crowd, atmosphere of the town, the scene, etc. I offer this up with one caveat. I haven't seen games at every school and there are five in particular that I would love to get to that have great reps (LSU, Auburn, Clemson, Texas A&M and Alabama.)

....

2) Texas: Best college town. Everything here is eye-poppingly spectacular and yet still charming at the same time.

...

7) Ohio State: The Horseshoe, the dotting of the "I" . . . the whole place just feels like big-time mid-western college football. (Growing up watching the great OSU-Michigan games on TV, I had to have one of these tradition-rich places on here, and OSU wins out because it is louder. Much louder.)

as always, I can't wait

I wish I was going to be at the game this September, but I don't think it will work out in my favor. Having said that, hopefully for every Texas fan that will be in Columbus, it will be a great experience. This means you are treated much, much better than most Michigan fans can probably claim to be. Obviously you will be in town over the weekend if you are going at all, and there are things you should/have to see. Start off with College Gameday, which I can only imagine will be there. If they aren't, they're missing the boat. Getting up early for the game-day atmosphere should not be a much of a problem for you 'Horn fans. But also do yourself a favor and get to the skull session at St. John Arena. (Directly across the street, you will not waste any time or energy getting there, old b-ball home.) It's quite an insight to how Buckeye fans and the band itself co-incide together to create the atmosphere we get so excited about. I wish I knew exactly how soon before the game starts that you should be there, but it is incredible. Doesn't matter where you sit. Most of the times that I have been there, (mostly the big games) you can look around yourself and see grown men crying. It usually takes a lot for this to happen. I myself haven't cried YET...but I get serious chills, and it's worth it, especially if it's the last game you ever see in Ohio Stadium. The only thing I would warn you about is, if you are dragging ass to leave St. John, you may have trouble catching TBDBITL entering the stadium. A MUST SEE. Once again, Buckeye fans get chills, and the entire proceeding is something to behold. You'll get a pretty nice Script OHIO, which you may have seen pictures, but they don't do it justice. There should be some pretty good tail-gating throughout the day, although the rules have changed since I went to school there, and can't comment about exactly how good it still is. (alcohol, open fires/grills) After the game will be yet another party atmosphere, win or lose, because hey, we're here, let's just enjoy it. My last bit of input: I can't guarantee you guys anything from the start of the first quarter thru the end of the game. :) It should be a great time for everyone, as ya'll (lol) get to return the favor/hospitality next year. Go Bucks!

Gotcha... any word on whether you are bringing extra cheerleaders up for a state exchange program? I'm sure a number of OSU students would gladly give up their texas ticket if the girls stayed with them over the weekend :)
Give up a ticket to this game for the possiblity of a good time? I think not. This game is better than sex.

The game will last about 3 hours. You're obviously getting older now, and need some help from Cialis or Levitra, so you can have that 4-hour sexual experience.

However in 1995, when Terry Glenn was showing his heels to Allen Rossum of Notre Dame, I do remember comparing that thrill to a sexual experience myself. One that lasted about 10 seconds for me, I guess.

I believe skull sessions start 2 hours before kick off. So 6:00 PM on 9/10 - but if you want to get in before the place gets packed (St. John's holds ~10,000, I think) you'll probably have to get in a LOT earlier. That being said, it's a really awesome experience, but I don't know how much the casual Texas fan would enjoy what is essentially a huge Ohio State pep rally.

Too lazy to read back through the whole thread, but has anyone else heard that President Bush is going to be in attendance at the OSU/Texas game?
I have read that he does want to attend, but that his plans are normally not 'finalized' until about 10-14 days before such an event. Even then, of course, something big happening the week before the game could make him miss it.

Damn, if the prez is going to be in attendance, then security will be TIGHT. If I'm not mistaken, this would not be his first visit to the 'Shoe, as he was the commencement speaker for the spring graduates in 2002.
in 2000 when he gave his acceptance speach from austin i had snipers on the roof of my dorm. Generally speaking though the security is not as tight as you might expect.
