I can see ephedra and its similar drugs being banned. They've cost too many lives of athletes trying to get an edge.

I can't see the point in banning known growth aids that have virtually no side effects. I never have taken them, even when in the service though several of my buddies did.
I don't have an answer. The NCAA seems to like to stress the "scholar" in "scholar-athlete." Maybe legallizing some stuff would emphasize the "athlete." By keeping most stuff illegal, maybe they get the feel that all players are still college students who just happen to be playing football.

It doesn't make sense to me, either. Not much the NCAA does makes sense to me.

Hell, I read a story not long ago that the second biggest abusers of 'Roids are teenage and pre-teen girls. Where is Congress on that issue?
Interesting. I never heard that. Did the report say WHY these girls are using steroids? I would think that 'roids are the last thing that these girls would want, since most pre-teen and teenage girls want nothing more than to be popular. I would think 'roids would turn them into freaks.

Why else? Weight and self image. I'll try to find the story and PM it to you so we can keep this about Texas.

Oh yeah.. Texas. BOO TEXAS!

Seriously, about Texas, I keep hearing Texas fans asking us how we think the Bucks can account for Vince Young. I think that's the wrong question. I'm a bit curious as to how they think he can account for the Bucks' linebackers.

If he can't, he'll be counting stars. The ones circling his head. Texas has played a couple of great defenses. But nothing like what he's going to see on 9/10.

Another good question, I've asked how Texas can account for Ginn and Holmes downfield, and I know someone recently asked how they could contain Ginn across the middle....the Texas fans seem to be ducking these questions...or else they just haven't been around for a few days.

one of the ways that we feel that we can account for your lb's is our offensive line, despite what was said a couple of pages ago by buckeyeboys new best friend, Texas will have its best offensive line of the mack brown era and will be going against, by most accounts anyways, the weakness of the buck eye defense. I don't think that your d line will be able to keep our oline off of your linebackers all game. Will hawk and co. make some plays? absolutley i would be foolish to say otherwise, but they will not be free to roam the field the entire game, imho.

on a side note, if i am wrong about this, it will be a very long game for texas fans

1. i was gone all weekend

2. i'm not ducking the question, i just don't know the answer. I wish i new more about the chizic defense but i don't. I would assume that our plan would be to try and hit them in the mouth and be as physical as possible with them. We have a very big secondary that runs very well. Clearly they are not as fast as ginn but they all are larger. So that is my best guess.

Well I think High Lonesome knows what he's talk'n bout because I also believe it comes down to our D-line against their O-line. I think early we'll actually come out and surprise them with how tough our interior line is. I for one think our interior line is very solid because we can rotate 4-6 guys. One thing I'm worried about is who's opposite of Kudla. Richardson looked very good in the scrimmage so I'd guess him, but we need a pass rushing threat.

We're going to keep them off our linebackers some and they'll get to our linebackers some the kicker is who's going to do which more times I guess.

We'll probably see 8 guys play Dline that day. Abdallah, Cotton, Worthington.. Everybody.

Richardson at 6'6" 270 seems like he would be more of a run stopping kinda guy, but who knows how much speed he has off the edge. I remember at last years spring game he got around Rehring so much he made him look like a freshman who enrolled early... oh wait.

Anyways, the strength of our D-Line is it's depth as previous posters have mentioned. Also you have to figure we kept everything at the spring game base formations for a reason. Hopefully all will go well against Miami and we can save some wicked blitzing schemes for game two.

And who knows, a lot of guys on the D-Line are poised for a breakout year. How good were Anderson, Scott, Peterson, and Smith in 2001? Cause they were pretty damn good in 2002.

One part of me says, "Good! Let the spotlight shine on someone else for a change!", but realistically these were probably relatively small purchases a long time ago... I doubt they have any left and it's not like they won anything important in that period of time. :wink2:

I hope the talking heads don't make too big a deal out of this.

Andy Geiger would have self-reported and ESPN would have crusified him for it... I don't think either will (or should) happen here.
