we are coming in for the big weekend, and have been unsuccessful so far in getting tickets through normal channels. If there is anyone that is willing to sell their tickets, please email me at [email protected].

I am looking for 3-4. I don't want to miss the biggest game of the year!!

If you want 4.. together I reccommend Ebay and about three grand.

UT fans, how much playing time is Jamaal Charles expected to get this week against UL-L? Mostly just mop-up duty?
Against ULaLa I expect Charles and Melton to get 5-7 carries each. Selvin and Vince should get 15-20, and Taylor around 10.

In your game I expect that Charles may only get a couple (if that), while Melton gets a 5 or so when we need a power runner in the game.

texas fans watch this ... you will enjoy watching this b/c most of the clips are ones you probably have not seen yet (very few repeat clips from what we have here).
hawk's play in the open field against nc state are the big ones id like them to see personally. nothing against vyoung, and im sure he will have some measure of running success against us. but our defense can't be compaired with scum's.

We like to rely on season ending trends when there are close to 10 starters/major contributors that weren't in the mix during the early part of the season, including Ted Ginn, Troy Smith, Ashton Youboty, Anthony Schlegel, Anthony Gonzalez, etc. You can't claim that trend. I'm sure your end of the season team was different... but you lost two major contributors, whereas the only star we lost was Nugent.
Uhh..and he wasn't a major contributor? He saved yalls asses countless times.

I think most Texas fans could care less how we win this ballgame, we just want the win. If Vince does it in the air, that would be wonderful. But if he does it mostly with his feet, that would be awesome too. I listened to am1300 in Austin the other day and the DJ said it best, that Vince "seems much more mature and much more confident in himself." From the way he handles himself in interviews, to his role as a leader of the ball club.

I'm sure many of you remember last year, when asked whether he'd rather beat Oklahoma, or win the Heisman, Cedric Bensen replied, " Win the Heisman." Now most Horns, including myself, were probably quick to defend him. But in reality, I think most Horns were puzzled and upset about an honest answer to a question like that from your senior Tailback. Ced was a good soldier for the Horns, but he definitely dropped the ball in that respect. Knowing how much that game meant to the program and the University, the team leader should have answered "Beat OU!!" That should have been the answer whether he felt that way or NOT!!

I don't think you'd ever get that kind of answer out of Vince, and this team feeds off Vince. Vince is the unquestioned leader of this team. We lost some valuable pieces to last years team, but as a whole I'm sure this team will be mentally stronger than last years!

I think UT has earned the rep of being "SOFT" and we will have to Beat several top teams in order to shake that rep! Last year, went a long way in breaking that reputation. I'll admit, I'd be the first to tell you Texas would lose a game like this early last year! But as the season evolved, Vince became the dominant force on this team! You guys mention that OSU plays and responds differently to Troy than they do Zwick. If it's anything like the way UT feeds off Vince, Tressel will have to play Troy.

I don't mean to rant, but I just can't believe the 10th is almost here!! The events of the last few days almost made me feel guilty for continuing to look forward to the upcoming season. But life goes on and the games give many a release from lifes' misfortune.

no problem, we're running low on content... we could only make fun of hookem so long. Gotta love diehard faith in a player... I have a lot of respect for VY as a leader and a person (vs my distaste for Benson's quote about backups not being worthy of celebrating the rose bowl win, among other things).

Guys why let logic get in the way of idiocy?

Troll on Hookem!
LOL.

I did misread. Sorry.

I just realized you gave me green rep 2 days ago or maybe yesterday..then took it away again tonight I guess. Was it cause I misread Winslow's message? Thats just hilarious.

On another note...Astros finally put some runs on the board....college football starts tomorrow...i'm going to Vegas this weekend. Its a good week.

Have a good time in Vegas, as I'm sure you will. I've never met a person who didn't. I've never been there, so I'm living vicariously to this point.

College football does indeed begin Thursday, and I couldn't be more excited than you guys. Too bad I work second shift, and won't catch the South Carolina game. (ESPN right?) At any rate, cheers to all NCAA FB fans. Raise your glass for a toast!! We're all undefeated!!

Jeers to you for picking on the Cincinnati Reds. I'm happy for the Astros for denting the plate 10 times. We probably have the worst pitching staff in baseball. If you don't score on us, we'll let you try against the team from Hawaii who just beat the best 12 year olds in the world. Just playin witcha, good luck in the playoff race, I'd like to see Houston be the wild card, as the NL Central needs 2 reps for some credibility. Although, not many teams have shut out the Reds this year....

But seriously, let's all take these last 2 days before the first full weekend of college football to be with the victims of Katrina. So horrible. I have friends in the area (thankfully, fled to Houston) and even in Alabama, not sure they were hurt too bad, haven't heard. Not everyone can send monetary contributions, but we can pray for them just the same. Just realize how good we have it sometimes, and even as bad as you think it is for you sometimes, it's definitely worse for somebody else. God Bless.
