I'm not the type to rip on a program just b/c of a couple players, seeing as we had mr clarett. I only do that when the trend is alarming, like Miami's requirement for their football team that you be frighteningly daft as shown every year by their wonderlic scores.

Interesting discussion going on over at hornfans about what kind of offensive schemes you show Ohio State during the Lousiana-Lafeyette game. Link

It's interesting to see some of the Texas fans thoughts on this issue. It looks like some of them think it futile and dangerous to hide plays from your opponents because you would not have any experience running them, essentially having the playbook "open" all the time. Of course, we all know Tressel opens up the playbook at the end of the year to keep Michigan and our bowl game opponent on their toes. A tOSU poster gives Krenzel running the option for the first time against scUM in 2002 as an example, as well as running QB draws against Miami all day.

Interestingly enough, it seems that some of these Texas fans see opening up the playbook as the season progresses as somehow bad?

Well like you said, the playcalling is awful. Therefore, opening up the playbook doesn't seem to happen in their big games, so it doesn't seem like they would have a good reference point for saving things for their biggest game.

They did seem to enjoy the trend as the OC stopped forcing VY to be a pocket passer and let him improvise more.

here is the deal with opening up the playbook at texas. Every year we tell ourselves, as we watch an increadably plain offense in the ooc, "We are just saving the stuff for ou". Problem is that we never open up for ou. In fact it never seems to fail that we open up the offense a week or two after the ou game. Which makes sense because Mizzu is a ver tough win. People want to see us open it up early because then they know that we will do it for tOSU and ou as opposed to the weeks after.

Ok.... Fawcett Center it is. gost8, Do you wanna just meet at my house since it's on the way to the freeway and I'll follow you and help set up?

Edit:

I just re-read the first post of the thread and saw that you were planning on making brats. Well I have some special recipe brats that I was planning on making so don't make as many as you were planning on. Do we have a grill yet or maybe a portable stove? You're bringing a generator correct? What all do we still need? I can bring a 25'' TV. Let me know if there is anything else.

I think since there is going to be such a low turn out, everyone should just bring what they are going to want to eat. I am going to edit my original post in the thread. I can meet up before we head out. It would be nice if a lot of us can get there at near the same time to set up and get a good piece of real estate.

Just so everyone is clear...

The tailgate will be going on all day long, and will be in the Fawcett Center parking lot. gost8 and I plan on being down there around 6am. If you plan on stopping by, please bring anything that you would like to eat or drink. I think we have everything else covered.
