Im not descrediting his feats, thats blazing fast.
But he is not on the same level as a Shawn Crawford like xray seems to think.
He is a true frosh. Just a little bit of development and he could be even more scary than he already is. I don't think an improvement on 10.23 is unrealistic. I think it should be expected.
He is very elusive as a runner. I don't remember a kid at Texas who combined true world class speed with a substantial "waggel." We are very excited about him. W/out injuries, the sky is the limit for him.
Hook'em
Obviously not a great speller.TKJ, this is not personal towards you, you just happen to be the post that finally made me snap. While I don't doubt that your right, and I have been very careful to say anything negative here at the risk of sounding like an uncle tom.....What the HELL do track times have to do with anything. Y'all sound like a bunch of Mike Greenburg's that have never laced up a cleat trying to make sense out of something you seemingly know nothing about. Its like me claiming to be a great speller and then pointing to my math scores (which were very good) in order to illustrate intelligence.
CALL ME THE NEXT TIME EMMITT SMITH OR JERRY RICE WIN A TRACK MEET
As he pointed out, he wasn't bagging on TJK. Just pointing out that track speed, while nice and very note worthy, isn't going to win this game. Talk all you want about what these guys ran in the 100m as high school seniors or whatever. But there is more to this game than running in a straight line for 100m.Fundamentally, speed is an asset in the game of football, especially for a running back. Is it more important than vision, elusiveness, or "waggle?" Nope, I'll take the others in building my perfect running back. However, if asked whether I'd like my perfect running back to have world class speed along with those other fundamental characteristics, the answer is 100% you bet. Obviously this is the argument that TJK is presenting. A phenenomal running back, with as good of a "waggel" or "running back DNA" as some of the other greats we've had, just with world class speed as well. Hmm. That sounds like a good thing. I'll take that.
I assume you've watched JC enough to know he's a great running back, regardless of his track times, and would probably agree that he could easily be known for his great moves as much as his great speed. Dont' bag on a poster for simply stating that 2 is better than 1.
PS:My friend told me that Jammal Charles was acually faster than Ted Ginn, i sthis true, what are there 40 times?
Your kidding right? read the last couple of pages, I don't know for sure but would be willing to bet the answer is somewhere
