Ramonce Taylor may play football this fall, but it will be intramural flag football. He still has his legal trouble to deal with, plus grade issues that are still questionable and besides that Mack Brown dismissed him from the team.
I have not seen anything in regaurds to a court date, maybe some of the other Horn posters are more in the know, but I still say the chances of R. Taylor playing this year is o%. Regaurdless if he is found innocent, this was not R. Taylor's first brush with trouble at UT, and I would be totally shocked if Mack allowed him back on the team.
Last word I had was that Brown had pulled his scholarship and kicked him off the team permanently.
campies, meet UTMNC....UTMNC, meet campies.Wow, everyone needs to lay back for a second. All of this stuff regarding scholarship revoking, dismissed from the team, continuing legal trouble, etc is nothing but unsubstantiated fluff. There are surely some reasons for people to be skeptical of his future as a Longhorn football player, however, nothing close to these conclusions has been substantiated.
The fact is, Ramonce is currently enrolled in summer classes at UT, has gotten his academics squared away from the spring semester which was why he did not participate to begin with, and is thoroughly participating in the summer workout program that is exclusive to members of the Longhorns' football team. Now, from all that, combined with the indications that his legal charges will be dropped and squared away, where do people get off saying things like he will not be playing football for Texas again? To say that requires a deliberate ignorance from the reality of the situation, and does nothing to support either Ramonce or Mack Brown's ability to fairly, and independently handle this situation. One thing's for sure, is that no one can accuse Mack Brown of not being a player-first coach who will do the right thing for the player and team regardless of outside speculation, and this should be no different. I for one do not know if Ramonce will being playing for Texas ever again, however, at this point, I'd say that scenerio is just as likely to happen as to not.

I'm sure you didn't mean to target him with the comments....but they pretty much hit him in the head.Sorry for the strong words, I am just very adament against presumptive reasoning in situations such as this. UTMNC, you're a fellow Longhorn and appear to be a good guy; I certainly didn't mean to target you personally with those comments. However, for anyone else who is confident they know the outcome of a distant situation with which there a variety of factors in play, I'd just advise to remember there is always more to it than meets the eye, and give benefit of the doubt before judgement even if hesitant.
Since T, Ginn and A. Gonzales exploited the Texas secondary last year, I guess Mack figures R. Taylor is needed to shore up the UT defense.
