Game Thread Game One: Ohio State 38, Youngstown St. 6 (final)

Reminds me, during last season Michigan game there was kid in front of me wearing a Michigan shirt. I asked him if he realized he had bought a ticket in the student section....he said, "yeah, I've been to every game this year." To which I was confused....and then I asked if he was a student at tOSU....and he was. Needless to say I made sure to bump into him everytime the students went crazy when the Buckeyes scored.

I don't think it's weird at all. I am going to UF next year, but rest assured I will be wearing scarlet and gray damn near every day. I guess the only difference is I have always despised the Gators. But, even if I liked the Gators, I would always root for the Buckeyes in a heads up match up. Let me reiterate though, I DESPISE THE GATORS.

I find both of those weird. I don't think I could go live somewhere that bombards the populace with news about a team I despise. I could never live in Michigan or Pittsburgh or Florida. I pretty much will have to always live in Ohio, I guess.

It is different for me because I was born and raised in Florida. (My dad is from Cleveland) I have always been a huge Buckeye and Indians fan. I really never liked the Gators because I only really cared about the Buckeyes. But, I can look past my sports bias and go to a good school for a good education. Don't get me wrong, I would love to go to tOSU, but that really isn't a possibility right now.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not judging. To each his own. I'd imagine that every case of one fan going to a rival school has a reasonable explanation. I just think it would be weird, for me.

I see where you are coming from, but I think the difference for me is that I wasn't born and raised in Columbus, then decided to go to Michigan after being a long time Buckeye fan. Being born and raised here, it is a different situation.

I agree, I'm not too worried about it. But he's not just a Buckeye fan, he's Buckeye student. He's part of the university, which was why I brought it up.

I wish you would have punched that kid in the face...fricking traitor.

Get ready to take shit from other students 24/7. That would be brutal.

Hopefully you won't be punched in the face. :roll2:
I am really not too worried about it. I have tons of friends up there because I have grown up here. Also, I went to Gainesville for the Final 4 and BCS games. Gainesville really isn't that bad. I would think twice before I went to an FSU or Miami game rooting for the other team.

Tallahassee is a redneck town like none I've ever seen.

But they treat opposing fans decenty most of the time. If we can convince FSU to pass on the Citadel and schedule a home and away with a northern team; I will definitely be at Doak Campbell watching my Buckeyes butcher the Seminoles.

Yeah, I was more referring to the students in Tally. I go to Tallahassee probably once a month so I know what it is like. I think you are a little more likely to get your ass whooped in Tally or Miami as opposed to Gainesville.

Florida saves their whoopings for the field and/or court.

Dammit.
