a) Does OSU have akron-caliber athletes for coverage? He had 112 recieving yards and we scored 42 points.
Really shut him down.
You want to stack the box and let us throw for 486 yards? Go ahead.
I never said you guys would stack the box, but in the Akron game the were constanly bringing 9 guys into the box. That is how they stopped Wolfe on the ground, but they still couldn't stop him through the air.a) Does OSU have akron-caliber athletes for coverage?
b) OSU is THE standard when it comes to stopping the run in recent years... and rarely if ever do they stack the box.
Better hope your brand new center can handle Pitcock & Patterson consistently for superman to gain all of these yards.
yeah, you're in the MACG-FORCE said:I never said you guys would stack the box, but in the Akron game the were constanly bringing 9 guys into the box. That is how they stopped Wolfe on the ground, but they still couldn't stop him through the air.
I'm not worried about our O-Line. When somebody leaves, somebody else fills right in for them. There is a reason we had an 1,000 yard rusher 7 years in a row.
It doesn't matter what I say. I point out stats against Big 10 teams, but they aren't good enough big ten teams for you guys.um, ok? i don't really know where you want to go next. you know you're in the MAC and you know the MAC sucks....yet you're going to toot your horn about running on the MAC.
you've truly stumped me with your mind bending sarcasm.
you're not seriously arguing that UM and NW play good defense. It doesn't matter what I say. I point out stats against Big 10 teams, but they aren't good enough big ten teams for you guys.
so you don't think they are good enough big ten defenses either... yet complain when others say the same thing. great stuff. Not at all.
First good post I've read in this forum in a while. I don't understand why it's hard to accept that Wolfe may actually be an elite college-level running back. We all know that it takes a good/great supporting staff to make a RB successful, and for that reason, I honestly think tOSU will be able to handle Wolfe with basic coverage schemes. We're going in circles. G-Force brings up NIU's success against BCS opponents, someone(usually Milli ) brings up how weak those BCS opponents were, G-Force brings up the offense, someone brings up the quality of the OSU defense as opposed to another MAC opponent, and so on and so on. I think NIU deserves a little more credit than some are giving them and I think the NIU fans need to realize that we've played fairly well hyped MAC teams before and have had no problem containing them.
No I complain when I bring up Wolfe's and Pittman's stats vs. Michigan, but they are discredited because Michigan/Ohio State is a rivalry, and NIU/Michigan is not.so you don't think they are good enough big ten defenses either... yet complain when others say the same thing. great stuff.
Thanks except for the last part of your post.First good post I've read in this forum in a while. I'll also give G-Force credit for being quite knowledgeable about NIU and handily the best NIU fan I've run across so far. It's a lot easier to be an OSU, scUM, USC, Texas, etc. fan, so you've got my respect there. Pretty cool logo too.
I'm just happy we get a better warm up game than Texas
