the only elite BCS team I see in the last 5 years is UM, and they are usually pretty average on defense... (not to mention losing 5 games last year)And every year, NIU scares the BCS opponents they play.

Did you watch the game? If you did you would know NIU has Michigan on the ropes the entire 1st half until 2 fumbles. We turned it over 5 times that game, it could have and should have been much different.the only elite BCS team I see in the last 5 years is UM, and they are usually pretty average on defense... Points scored during this 'scare'? 17.
See that is a much more realistic prediction. If Wolfe gets alot of carries, we keep it close. If he doesn't we will get blown out. I agree, but I think Wolfe will get alot of carries....you haven't watched much tOSU football under Tressel have you? Anymore, it takes a good bit to scare our fanbase.
Here is my take, BS aside....
Wolfe might get 100...I don't doubt it. However, it will depend on early success and a possible long breakaway. You are correct about your defense...they will not stop tOSU. I look for ugliness early....the tOSU offense trying to do too much too fast. Then, they will settle in and start breaking off big play after big play. Wolfe's carries will be limited as NIU tries to keep up in the scoring without killing clock. If he has more than 18-20 carries, NIU will make it a ballgame. However, I don't see it..
tOSU 44 NIU 17
unless it's against east bumblefuck UG-FORCE said:Did you watch the game? If you did you would know NIU has Michigan on the ropes the entire 1st half until 2 fumbles. We turned it over 5 times that game, it could have and should have been much different.
#13 Maryland, a team that went 10-2 or 3 I can't excatly remember, wasn't "elite"?

To me it jsut seems as if most of you are acting like NIU sucks, Wolfe is overrated and hasn't played anybody. History shows we don't get blown out, and with argueably our most talented team I don't expect this to be any different.
All i am looking for is respect. Somebody said respect is earned, well he can't earn respect against OSU until he plays them. However every time Wolfe plays he suceeds no matter who he is playing, to me that is "earning respect."

I'm not looking for anyone to fear him. However 30 carries for 65 yards is considered respect around here?Correct...but what you don't understand is the bullseye you refer to on Wolfe's back...is on our entire program's back every week. We are always the target of an upset....
Wolfe has my respect as a football player...but seemingly, you are asking us to fear him. Sorry, but that will not happen.
No offense, but that does not happen in Columbus...ask Vince Young, you have to earn it. He did, maybe your boy will too...however, I just don't see it.
andLet's have some fun with Pittman and Wolfe common opponents.
Miami:
Pittman- 14 carries, 100 yards, 0 touchdowns
Wolfe- 31 carries, 197 yards, 2 tds
Northwestern:
Pittman- 18 carries, 132 yards, 1 td
Wolfe- 34 carries, 245 yards, 3 rds
Michigan:
Pittman- 23 carries, 85 yards, 1 td
Wolfe- 17 carries, 148 yards, 1 td
Totals:
Pittman- 55 carries, 317 yards, 2 tds
Wolfe- 82 carries, 590 yards, 6 tds
YPC:
Pittman- 5.7
Wolfe: 7.1
Mind that Wolfe has a bullseye on his back every game and is our #1, meanwhile Pittman was your #4 option. In common opponetns, Wolfe was better in every single category then Pittman was.
Wolfe owned Pittman in common opponents, so Pittman is no good either.
No kidding. I know that, however don't you think if Pittman carried the ball 34 and 31 times his YPC would have went down?First, let's look at yards per carry, shall we?
Miami:
Pittman- 14 carries, 100 yards (7.14 ypc)
Wolfe- 31 carries, 197 yards (6.35 ypc)
Northwestern:
Pittman- 18 carries, 132 yards (7.33 ypc)
Wolfe- 34 carries, 245 yards (7.21 ypc)
Michigan:
Pittman- 23 carries, 85 yards (3.70 ypc)
Wolfe- 17 carries, 148 yards (8.70 ypc)
Pittman was more effective than Wolfe in two out of those three games. The one game where Wolfe was better was against Michigan, and that's because Wolfe played against them in the first game of the season, whilst Pittman played against them in their last game of the season...huge difference in the maturation and development of the Michigan defense. Oh yeah, the reason why Pittman didn't get nearly as many carries in the Miami and Northwestern games was because we didn't need him after the first half becuase we were pounding them, unlike you guys needing Wolfe the whole game to squeak out wins.
yet again you're overlooking the conversation in the thread. I was giving an example of how 100 total yards was not impressive, and went on to say I didn't expect that prediction to come true.I'm not looking for anyone to fear him. However 30 carries for 65 yards is considered respect around here?
