Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

Walk softly and carry a big stick....
kind of disgusting to see some of the things people are syaing to the NIU fans here.. we are The Ohio State University.. so why are we belittling our opponets in stupid ass ways like stadium attendence amoung many many others? trying to prove we are more faithful to our program when we already all know this?

And im asking those who are doing it

Since you are looking for a specific response, I'd suggest asking specific people. If you decide to ask specific people, I'd suggest to do that via PM.

However, you can usually find the root of the issue if you look...I don't see many unwarranted attacks on NIU folks. G-Force has caused quite a few flare-ups with his passionate, and often annoying, diatribes beggi...errrr asking for respect.

When someone comes to this board and talks trash, they might as well expect an earful and a grudge.

Right or wrong, that is the way this 100% homer board works.

We talked about this about 40-50 pages ago (thereabouts). No way that Wolfe gets yanked, even if it's 45-3, unless he's having a really piss-poor day...if he's approaching 100 yards he'll be left in to try for the 100 just so NIU can say he ran for 100 against the nation's best rush defense over the last four years.
You couldn't be more wrong. Please don't talk out of your butt.

Wolfe carried the ball 3 times in the 4th quater of the Michigan game last year.

I asked this once, and then my attention span expired and I didn't stick around for the answer. Are there actual coaches who care about how their running backs do against specific teams? Is there anyone who says, "If my guy gets 5 more yards, he can claim to be only one of three guys to run for 100+ yards against this team in over a decade?" Maybe I give people too much credit. I would think that a coach wants to get the win. Maybe his goal is to get his back 100+ yards, because it helps him get his win. But if he's down by 5 touchdowns, I don't think that getting his back 100+ yards is going to be on his mind.

Did he already have 100+ yards, going into the fourth quarter? Or did one of those 3 carries in the fourth quarter put him over 100 yards? If either of those cases is true, the Mililani's point isn't wrong, based on the Michigan game.

Maybe because it was he already had his 145 or whatever yards? Oh yeah, wasn't the game still in question (at least according to your past posts it was) in the fourth quarter? And if so, why was he out? All banged up by that mighty Michigan rushing defense? Or was it because NIU still thought they had a chance and were passing more to catch up?

Ahh no you're right he did have over 100 yards already.

I REALLY doubt he would be in just to get him over 100 yards. If we lose that game his slim shot right now of winning the heisman would go to no chance at all.

I really think we would just take him out and keep him healthy.

You say this in a post directly after one in which you chastised BP members for going to an NIU board and talking a little smack?
the members i "chastised" posts were on this board.. i had no knowledge of them going to another board.. that is pretty pathetic IMO that a superior programs fans go on an opponets message board to give them shit because there attendence isn't good and 'they don't get football like we here in ohio do.' We all already know this kind of stuff.. thats what seprates our program from the majority and the USCs, Miamis, etc.

and i called out OUR OWN president.. making the situation apples and oranges IMO(not picking on another team but our own.. and i'd believe very few fans would argue she is not a •EDIT•)

In regaurds to calling out specific members let me go re-read what provoked me into making this post (as you can tell from me not knowing that they were on NIU boards i have only read a couple pages of this thread.. that was my first mistake with that post).. i edited out the line osugrad quoted but i was a little too late.. let me go find what was said that i thought was stupid

This goes back to me not reading the entire thread.. too many pages and being at work..
