What did Cercei say to Jamie about Bronn? I missed that part.
she asked Jaime if he was going to punish Bronn for betraying him, and then told him never to betray her again--- it was another reveal in the slow process they've been establishing that Jaime is realizing his sister is fucking insane and he probably shouldn't be supporting her

oh, and by the by... Sam totally is the ruler of Horn Hill now, right? I suppose his Night's Watch vows still apply, but I say screw that, give him his castle

kinda unrelated... but Sam stole Randyll Tarly's valyrian steel sword, right? and Randyll decided it wasn't a big deal and never looked into it? did he not notice it was missing? even when he went to war? hey, I'm about to march to war, maybe I should bring my sword 1) nah, I won't need it! 2) oh, it's not here? oh well! (ignoring the fact that it was prominently displayed on the wall and instantly apparent that it was missing)

was that a storyline that they just decided to abandon? out of all the things that don't make sense (Jaime and Bronn magically transporting themselves hundreds of yards underwater in a full suite of armor, he was still wearing his fucking sword when they emerged! and then casually walking back to Kings Landing, being a prominent example in the latest episode), Randyll Tarly not looking into what happened to possibly the most valuable thing in his family's possession going missing, when it was abundantly clear that Sam took it to boot, has to be close to the top of the list

The biggest issue this episode is the confusing, shifting allegiance of Randyl Tarly. The Tarlys backed the Mad King during Robert's Rebellion, and that's not just book canon, as it's been explicitly stated on the show; Randyl Tarly was the only Targaryen affiliated house to win a battle over Robert Baratheon. It's rather silly that a guy being portrayed as willing to be burned alive because honor, would have flipped to Cersei and agreed to lay waste to High Garden, and it's even sillier that he would not pledge for Dany the moment she set foot on Westeros soil. He was sworn to her family, and families that supported hers, his entire life!

Too many named characters and there's fewer than ten episodes left? Fuck it, have Drogon roast them alive!

they get around it a little bit by really emphasizing the strong nativist streak in Randyll- he really hated Gilly because she was a wildling, and Jaime focused on the savages that Daenerys was bringing with her, and that High Garden, in turn, allied itself with to turn him... and in his final moments Randyll's main sticking point (in addition to the savages all around) was that Daenerys didn't grow up in Westeros...I think that explains it pretty well, and it's an attribute they set up ahead of time through his hatred of Gilly that makes it consistent with the character

I got an idea. Put shards of dragon glass in little backpacks for these guys like in Batman Returns and have Bran launch drone strikes on the walkers.
