I have big problems with how Sam and Davos handled things too. Sam is naming his second kid after Jon and he won't vouch for him or even bring him up as a suitable king - not to mention the numerous times Jon saved Sam's ass at The Wall? Same for Davos - he traveled the known world for Jon, fought at his side multiple times, yet when the time was there to suggest Jon as a possibility, he was silent. It's not that Jon would have or should have gotten it, it's so entirely inconsistent with how the entire fucking series went.

I don't know....regardless of how good & noble Jon is, going to bat for the dude that just murdered the queen seems like a bad bet.

Also, Jon....my dude.....I'm down with the regicide and all, but at least have the balls to do it to her face. That was a fucking bitch move to do it while you were kissing her.

What happened to all the letters Varys was writing undermining Dany and putting forward Jon’s claim?

Going back and rewatching the episode, it is really baffling. The episode was really good up to a certain point, then the ending was absolutely fucking stupid. Then I re-read this thread and all the other endings that would have been abundantly better than that shit. Another thought I had was Sir Dabos ending up on the throne, that would have been great too. It was like the writers wanted to fuck up the ending and just piss off the fans.
