Game Thread Game Eight: Ohio State 45, Minnesota 31 (final)

The problem that I have with the offense is that it isn't capable of picking up the slack when the defense is having a bad game (like today).

Completely agree. You know teams with great offenses like this are going to move the ball, going to score points. However, you win these games by having your offense put up points against their mediocre defense. We cant do it.

Ok flame away.

With all that said. I am insanely impressed with Minnesota's O. Great game plan, their O-line is fantastic, Cupito throws a great ball, but doesnt have to win the game for you because of your running game. Maroney is awesome.

I'm much more concerned with the defense than the offense right now. The offense stalled when the OL stopped executing...you saw your playaction early in the series and what happened? Sack and a terrible situation. In a game of field position, negative plays kill drives.

If the defense doesn't start tackling better and taking better pursuit angles, this game has trouble written all over it.

I haven't seen the ht stats, but it looks like they're balancing the run and the pass well. It seems like the misdirection plays are working really well for Minnie. They're really calling a nice ballgame.

OK - what halftime adjustments need to be made?

Again, I think that Youboty's hip is really bothering him. Pull him if he can't go, but who goes in at corner?

I refuse to believe that Minnesota can bring in more offensive line talent than Ohio State. It's frustrating that the O line is not able to take over a game (like Minny's can). If Coach Tressel isn't careful he's going to get out-Tresseled by Mason.
