2023 GA RB Jamarion Wilcox (Kentucky Verbal)

Watched some film.
My comp is Kyrian Williams who was at ND last year and very productive.
Small in height but powerful but shifty.
Not a blazer.
Tough runner.

Good comp, I was trying to think of a name. And I second your thoughts, he has average speed, but his game is toughness and falling forward. Imo, a rotational RB who is a pure plan B. He’s originally from Cincinnati, so makes sense why OSU is in the fight this late for a GA recruit.
AE believes this is the RB we land in ‘23.

Rusty Mansell from 247sports is really high on Jamarion

Reminds me of Sean Tucker at Syracuse who is putting together an elite career.

Same size as Wilcox with very similar run style….very physical run style with a smaller frame (both in that 195lb range).

I see Wilcox as a grinder who will get that periodic homerun after grinding on a team for a bit.

Kinda reminds me of Jamaal Berry back in the day.
Doesn't have Berry's speed. Wilcox isn't breaking away from many defenses, he's going to run people over and fall forward. I'd say he's closer to Mike Weber than he is Berry if there's a Buckeye comparison to make.
UK is the leader for Wilcox according to AG. So a notch below Fletcher level, but still OSU caliber.

Also, more praise from the GA 247sports analyst

Elephant, I haven’t seen you in the recruiting threads since the days of Keith Wells.
Yep. At a new district. I will say it should be an exciting game at City Park tonight. Gainesville is pretty solid this year (new coaching staff) and their defense has been playing very well. They are led by Niblett, who is the ex Hoover coach. As for Wilcox... has incredible numbers this year. Iv got several coaching buddies going to the game so they will text I am sure.

@RB07OSU , I know I’ve read in another thread that you like wrestlers who play football. Wilcox also dabbles with wrestling
Qualified for Peach State's AAAAAA tournament as a sophomore in 182-pound weight class.

Tbh, I know many will not like this comp, but I see Wilcox’ ceiling as Blake Corum. Only difference is, I would never envision Day running him into the ground and solely relying on his legs like scUM does with Corum
