GA DB KJ Bolden (Georgia Signee)

CFB is fast becoming a runaway train with recruits going to the highest bidder. It is now just another professional football league disguised as amateur sports.
I think it’s peak insane right now and expect it to calm down eventually. Georgia is reportedly already reeling in what they’re willing to do through NIL after seeing the aftermath of their more aggressive efforts last year.

Until things calm down, I like how Ohio State is handling their business for long term sustainability and think they are going to focus more on the transfer portal rather than going insane trying to match offers from the likes of FSU.

And we’re also still pulling in top 5 classes.

The first step is knowing what game you sat in on. The second step is being committed to doing what it takes to win.

If we’re honest with ourselves, where is OSU right now?
I mean we have the second best class in the country but it seems like we can’t get 5 star defensive players right now for some reason.

Especially DE and Safety we need to be willing to do more here in terms of NIL if we are going to hope to land them.

If we have no intention to pay up then we would be better off just investing our resources elsewhere with kids who maybe have less of an NIL priority.

$2.2 million NIL deal.
And that’s just wild… honestly I’d walk away from the kid too if I were osu. These schools like FSU, Auburn, AM and Miami are landing 3-5 NIL kids per class hoping it changes their trajectory.

But if we give Bolden 2.2m we’d eventually have a bunch of kids upset. That’s not sustainable.

Totally get just folding on this one

The last part is what the m getting at.

Learning quickly is the key to success in a rapidly changing environment. Not sure anyone can say we are doing that.

Charlie Brown seems to have had the 5 star defensive recruit football pulled away much more often than not the past few years.

Brian Hartline isn’t going to be there to save their ass in recruiting rankings forever.

Let's see if they have the Miami problem and can't pay it. That's way too much money for a friggin high school kid who may get trucked by an Olineman the first day of practice and forget who he is after that. The market has no idea what the value is at the moment so I hope the Buckeyes keep doing what we're doing, 5 Stars be damned.

Then why keep screwing with it? You know this insanity is out there yet you keep expending recruiting resources to be a hat on the table.

Find a new strategy.

Yes and despite not having the stomach to get kids like Bolden and all the DEs from last year we still have a really good class.

Issue right now is that it seems like everyone is paying top dollar for the elite S and DE recruits.

We need to find a way to get a top rated DE because after this year we are in deep crap if we miss out on Houston.
