G/F Evan "The Villain" Turner (2010 Naismith Winner)

if he continues to put up 18, 9 and 6 a game down the stretch, there is no way he doesn't bring home the hardware. Look @ their record when he is in the lineup. They r back in the top 10 in the AP, right there @ the top of the big 10. He's the glue that keeps that ship together. Big 10 POY for sure, should end up Nat'l POY too IMO.

A little more depth and size down low and we would be talking about a possible final 4 team. Just don't see it this year unless Turner takes over the tourney, averages 20+ and double digit boards per game.

Go Bucks!!!!

If you're in to this sort of thing, there's a poll up on CBS Sports' CBB page asking if you would rather have Evan Turner or John Wall on your team.

I know folks on this site would be inclined to vote for Evan, but you should know that with John Wall you get at least 5 bogus calls to go your way every game. Just something to consider.

I really like Evan Turner but I think he still has some work ahead to enter that domain, mross.

Turner is having an outstanding junior year. It may be one of the most impressive junior years in the history of college basketball by the time he finishes.

Lucas, Havlicek, Bradds, Jackson...that is quite a tall bar for number retirement. Compare Turner's total body of work to some of the Buckeye greats that didn't make that cut such as Freeman, Cleamons, Hopson, Hosket, Ransey, or Williams.

Probably, he needs to put together a stronger body of sustained achievement over his career. Unfortunately, his career is likely to be cut short by a jump for the NBA at the end of the year without having won a national championship or player of the year honors.

So, one wonders if it will be enough even if he wins player of the year. Now, if Ohio State wins the Big Ten, the Big Ten Tournament, and reaches the NC game and if he is recognized as a first team All-American and wins the Big Ten and National Player of the Year Awards, then I think that he may get consideration. Otherwise, I think he needs another year like this one to get that recognition.
