It ain't decided til the deadline to declare is past. :wink2:

don't forget me if the vbet is arranged:)

I would also like a little action on that along with brodybuck21. He could improve his draft stock immensely by stating one more year. He really needs to work on his outside shot and ballhandling. In addition, he and Lighty are very good friends for whatever that is worth.

Well a pessamist is just an optimist that has been around for a while. I'm a jaded, cynical, pessamistic SOB and I agree with NFB...I'll believe it when the deadline to declare passes and he's still at OSU.

So far so good though.

Turner ?adamant? that he?s returning

Evan Turner has spent this week at home in Chicago ?just getting a breather from a long season . . . relaxing with family and friends,? his mother, Iris James, said today.

?When we touch on the subject, he?s said he?s going back.?

?The subject? is whether the Ohio State sophomore should enter his name in the NBA draft, if only to get a better idea of his standing with NBA teams. He could always withdraw it before the June 15 deadline and not forfeit any of his college eligibility.

The deadline for early entry in the draft is April 26.

?He does have some time to (consider) that,? James acknowledged.

James said that family members and some of Turner?s former coaches in Chicago have assisted her with her ?homework? on her son?s would-be standing in the draft. She said they have been told the same as has been reported on some mock drafts online, that Turner is a mid- to late first-round choice.

James said she also is aware that Mike Conley Jr. and Daequan Cook completed spring-quarter classes in 2007 while training four days a week in Indianapolis to prepare for individual workouts with NBA teams. Both ended up staying in the draft after only one season at Ohio State and were selected in the first round.

?As a parent, you want to see all the options covered,? James said.

?But Evan is very adamant about going back to school. I personally don?t think that?s going to change right now. He loves Ohio State and wants to play there.?

Turner ?adamant? that he?s returning (Hoops & Scoops: an OSU basketball blog)

by Doug Lesmerises
Thursday March 26, 2009

INDIANAPOLIS -- If Ohio State swingman Evan Turner was a freshman instead of a sophomore, he might be gone, too, just like center B.J. Mullens. Mullens announced his departure for the NBA on Thursday, the same day Turner's family was confirming his season-ending locker room sentiment that he'd be back.

"He is finally enjoying college," Turner's mother, Iris James, said Thursday. "The first year was rather difficult, but he overcame it, and now when I talk with him, he's happy."

And he's staying.

"He has been adamant about coming back," James said.

That's because he knows what he's coming back to.

I know. Prove me wrong Evan. :io:

Evan doesn't need an evaluation to tell him he's a borderline lottery pick. I'm assuming he's coming back. And trust me, the agents have already told him what he's passing up and the mistake he is making.

I'm confident he is coming back at this point. He is fully aware of what he is passing up, but has enough confidence in his game to feel like he can improve his stock.

I would have congratulated if he left, but I'm happy he is staying. Neither decesion is the wrong decesion, it just depends on personal factors in each of these guys lives.

He's coming back....Scout.com.

I think the naysayers agree, all of the quotes, articles, words from the horses mouth are legit.....it's just a matter of seeing the NBA draft entry period pass and go before they are true believers.......

and I understand that. But I think he's coming back. Unlike Evan, a lot of guys who say they are coming back when they could easily leave, leave the door wide-open in interviews. I really haven't seen Evan do that.

There was an error made when one of the Admins was adjusting my vCash as part of the Spring Drive yesterday. I noticed it, and had it changed back last night. After winning some bets last night, I've 'only' got about 1.5 billion. :wink2:

Bob Hunter commentary: Rumblings
Friday, April 3, 2009 3:01 AM
By Bob Hunter

Before Evan Turner returned to Ohio State for the start of spring quarter, the sophomore and his mother discussed whether he should enter the NBA draft, if only to get a clearer picture of where he might go in the first round.

But his mother, Iris James, told The Dispatch this week that, "I believe he is not going to put his name in at this point. We did discuss it. We did go back and forth. I told him to follow his heart, and that's what he did."

She added, "I, as a mother, think other things should be considered. He wants to play ball (at Ohio State), though, so that's what he's going to do. The NBA is going to be there next year. It's not going anywhere."

The deadline for underclassmen to enter the draft is April 26.

Word on the Street: Who?s In and Out of the 2009 NBA Draft

A look at the latest rumors on who is officially in or out of the 2009 draft, and who is still on the fence.

-Evan Turner is widely expected to return to Ohio State for his junior year, based off numerous reports indicating how strongly he feels about playing another season in college, but from what we?re hearing, there is still a conversation going on that would suggest otherwise. It?s too early to say whether Turner will definitely be in the draft, but it?s also too early to say he definitely won?t.
