Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

Right now, I don't like the 2014 schedule. Too many bad teams.
But things could change for some of those teams like Navy, which has been good at times but seems in a down cycle right now. Not excited about Maryland and Rutgers.
Even Virginia Tech looks down right now.(Cincinati beat them)
Cincinati could be very interesting as they won 10 games including a Bowl game last year and it would be like a rivalry game.
Kent State lost their coach and will be going through transition.
Cal? New coach and schemes. But a proven coach.
How good will State Penn be with a QB that has never taken a snap in a college game?

Did you just combine the 2013 and 2014 season? We don't play Cal in 2014 and Penn State could have a QB in 2014 that has taken a snap in a college football game.

With too few nonconference dates available in 2016, Buckeyes must jettison game
BY DAVID BRIGGS
BLADE SPORTS WRITER

COLUMBUS ? Sorry, we?re overbooked.

The expansion of the Big Ten football schedule in 2016 has wedged Ohio State into the role of a crammed airliner ? with more games scheduled than there are dates available.

Among the little-noticed upshots of the move to nine league games is that OSU will have to drop one of its four scheduled nonconference contests in 2016.

The likely target is a late-September visit from Central Michigan, which would put Ohio State in the odd position of backing out of a deal arranged just last fall but keep intact the two nonleague games with stronger interest locally.

Ohio State will travel to Oklahoma for an intersectional showdown on Sept. 17 and open the season at home on Sept. 3 against Bowling Green State University. The Buckeyes also are scheduled to host Tulsa on Sept. 10.

?BGSU will remain the home opener for 2016,? said Martin Jarmond, OSU executive associate athletic director in an email message, adding that a home-and-home series against Oklahoma will also remain. ?We hope to have resolution on the rest of the nonconference slate in the next month.?

OSU is one of four Big Ten schools with an overloaded 2016 nonconference schedule, with the Buckeyes, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Northwestern each following the model of three home games and one road trip.

In a perfect scenario, Jarmond, who was recently put in charge of the Buckeyes? football scheduling, said OSU would remove its Sept. 24 home game against Central Michigan ? a meeting now pegged for what would likely be the first weekend of Big Ten play.

It is unclear if Ohio State is seeking to reschedule the Chippewas or negotiate a buyout. OSU agreed to pay the Chippewas a reported $925,000, the largest payout in CMU history but consistent with the going rate for guarantee games at top BCS programs. BGSU will receive $975,000 for its 2016 trip to Columbus. (Short of a mega payday, a growing number of programs will only schedule games as home-and-home arrangements.)

Big Ten releases 2015 conference schedule
The Big Ten released the 2015 schedule on Monday, giving fans a look at the last year of the league's eight-game scheduling format.

While the SEC debates the advantages and disadvantages of a nine-game scheduling format, the Big Ten has already announced plans to expand the schedule in 2016 -- two years after the arrival of Maryland and Rutgers.

Wisconsin's schedule looks like something Barry Alvarez would come up with.

I see both Maryland and Rutgers have a nice "Welcome to the Conference" schedule drawn up for them like what was given to Nebraska.

I'm disappointed for three reasons.

1. Another weak schedule for Ohio State
2. Wisconsin needs shit the bed to not reach Indy
3. We won't be beating Wisconsin in 2015.

There's a decent chance that will happen on Dec. 5th, 2015. :wink2:

Sounds like Charlie Strong and Louisville have challenged Ohio State to a future non-conference game in Cincinnati. link

If we even could fit them into our schedule, Charlie Strong wouldn't still be at Louisville. A home-game at Ohio State would also be more likely, seeing as though the B1G will be going to 9 conference games soon. With all that said though, I'd love to see this happen. Beats the crap out of the "non-football blue bloods" Gene's been scheduling lately (San Diego St, Tulsa, etc.).
