Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

Yes, this. Same with the game we had out at Washington. Hard to tell how good these teams will be down the road.

That's why it's important to schedule multiple brand-name opponents. It increases the chance that at least one of them will be a marquee game when it finally comes around.

Michigan scheduled a series against Arkansas. No f'ing excuses Gene for you anymore, Gene. Bring on the SEC.

Lori Schmidt@LoriSchmidt
Michigan football also announced that they'll host Arkansas in their 2018 season opener, and open at Arkansas in 2019.

It appears Ohio St. will have Okla., UNC & Clemson on the '17 sched. If OSU is any indication, this playoff will make CFB so much better

I still want UGA back on the schedule!!

...among the tweets reporting that the Buckeyes will play Clemson in the 2017 Kick-Off Classic in Nashville, TN.

Haven't seen confirmation outside of Twitter yet. Nothing on official tOSU site yet.

Leads me to think that UNC could very well be a part of the B1G by the time 2017 rolls around. Could be wrong...just a thought.

There are now media reports that the twitter buzz about the Clemson game was wrong. Several outlets are now saying that all B1G teams are holding off until conference schedules including the new teams are firmed up.

Barry Alvarez: Big Ten agrees no more FCS opponents

Speaking on his monthly radio show Tuesday night, Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez shared a nugget of information that should cheer football fans who long for better nonleague games.

According to Alvarez, Big Ten officials recently agreed to stop scheduling nonconference games against FCS programs.

"The nonconference schedule in our league is ridiculous," Alvarez said on WIBA-AM. "It's not very appealing"

"So we've made an agreement that our future games will all be Division I schools. It will not be FCS schools."

..../cont/...

On a slightly more serious note it's more than a little ironic hearing Alvarez complain about weak scheduling when he has been one of the biggest abusers of the practice.

That's a pretty good OOC lineup though. Virginia Tech is always tough. Kent State and Cinci are both coming off a 10 win season, and while Navy had a down year at 8-5 last year they're a decent opponent. This is what I would like to see our future OOC schedules look like every year. 1 REALLY good program, 2 more BCS conference opponents, and 1 decent mid-major but NOT a 1AA.
