In the Navy.....

Ohio State just announced a home-and-home series with Navy for 2009 (here) and 2014 (there). I expect the "there" game will be played in the Ravens' stadium in Baltimore.
I find this interesting for two reasons.
One is, it replaces what once was an Army home-and-home. Army pulled out of that after a coaching change. The new regime brought a new philosophy and they canceled the contract.
Then, it appeared Texas Christian was coming here for the 2009 opener. I don't know what happened to that, but I thought that was a very good fit for a non-conference game, better than a service academy.

Toledo managed to get OSU to come to Cleveland Stadium in 2009.

Is this for real?

Yes it is, and something similar happened before. They played Northwestern in Cleveland's old Municipal Stadium on Oct. 19, 1991.

Ohio State-Navy: Home-and-Home Scheduled

First game at Ohio Stadium next year, then a return game in DC or Baltimore in 2014.

This is exactly the kind of games we should be scheduling. One marquee home and home; one or two home and homes or two for ones with a low BCS or quality mid-major that gives the alumni a good out of state trip and one in-state school always at home.

IMO, this is far better for the program and the alumni than simply rotating an additional in-state school through Ohio Stadium for a money game.

I did a lot of searching and failed to find specific info on the Eastern Michigan game, which IIRC was scheduled to fill an open date on Oct 30, 2010, with another open date on Sep 18, 2010. Ohio U. filled the Sep 18 date, but according to the schedule on the official site, the Eastern Michigan game has been shifted from Oct 30th to Sep 25th (which was originally scheduled to be our conference opener against Illinois), and the conference games all pushed down a week with The Game being on Nov 27th. When did this all happen?

Oh Sweet Jesus! My alma mater getting waxed by my Bucks.

Then again, having Ron English on the sidelines will probably make the Buckeye offense drool even more.
