The big hubbub was a couple years ago. Fairdale King who is a poster that gave away his rosters caught BK stealing his roster and then reselling it. FK actually made up a few players to see if someone was stealing them and lo and behold each of his "phantom" players was in BK's roster.
To top it off BK has been buying up alot of other sites the past few years and actually bought FK Rosters website using a 3rd party. So alot of people thinking it was FK's website bought it from BK.
The bigger issue is now this year there should be NO reason to actually pay for rosters. Heck, last year you were able to get them for free too. But BK basically takes advantage of the casual gamer that doesn't read message boards or even realize that you can get rosters for free.
So what BK has been doing is trying to buy any website that would be the first to pop up on any yahoo or google search for NCAA rosters. Cuz it would totally ruin his "business" if the top result in any NCAA roster search is a website that says it will give you rosters for free. ( I mean it is a good business practice, but it takes advantage of players that aren't in the "know")
The other issue is the bigger picture that might impact the actual game. The reason the rosters need to be free is due to NCAA rules. If the NCAA realizes that someone is making a profit from "amateur" players name they might force EA from allowing rosters to be edited in the first place. Which would just plain suck.
