Former Tennessee Coach Derek Dooley (Unemployed)

I could see Cutcliffe coming back to Knoxville. Hell, I could see Petrino before most of the guys on that list.

Seeing Gruden's name come up every time there's an opening is hilarious.

I was just in Little Rock for a few days last week. There was a lot of talk about Petrino coming back to campus and being welcomed back. Apparently he's 'making amends' with his family.

This from the state that gave us Bill Clinton, makes perfect sense.

once Arkansas realizes they're still Arkansas and will never get anyone better, i can see them re-hiring him.

only problem is we've been waiting for Arkansas to realize they're only Arkansas for really long effing time.

One of the things that I heard mentioned as motivation for bringing him back was that they didn't want him coaching elsewhere in the SEC.

Isn't that kinda like asking some lying cheating ho-bag for her hand in marriage because you don't want someone else's dick up her ass?

Strong decision making skills down there. A little John L Smith will do that to ya.

not sure where they would worry about him landing.

Auburn is the only division school looking for a coach.
and we all know Auburn is willing to buy a title if necessary.

and as I said before, Arkansas is still Arkansas.

What coaching position do you think Meyer would fit in best on Gruden's staff?

Also, some dumbass started a thread suggesting Jim Tressel as a candidate. That's right, he's suggesting that a school that's on probation should try to hire a coach with a 5-year show-cause penalty. :slappy:

Jon Gruden's name being suggested for every coaching job is like the hype and wait for Duke Nukem Forever. The game finally ended up getting released after years, but after all the hype it didn't live up. Got to wonder if the same won't befall Gruden if he ever coaches again.

No surprise, Dooley's firing has wound up being very good for David Cutcliffe.

David Cutcliffe gets new Duke deal

Duke coach David Cutcliffe has agreed to a contract extension through June 2019, the school announced Wednesday.

Cutcliffe just led the Blue Devils to bowl eligibility for the first time since the 1994 season. His name had been floating through the coaching carousel in recent weeks, and some had speculated he could be a candidate at Tennessee.

Cont'd ...
