I don't know how I've missed this, but shit. I sort of get it with the recent results, but Coombs is one of my all time favorites in Columbus and I think he's a great coach if he's not overextended. I hope he crushes it at UC back in the hometown and nothing but fond memories on my end.

Somehow I can't see Coombs getting the position permanently. However, I doubt that any of the top tier head coaching candidates has the Bearcraps on their "A list" of jobs either, so who knows. Without Fickell (or someone of his caliber) I can see the Bearcraps easily dropping into an annual state of mediocrity that is something akin to an average MAC school and the BIG XII eventually having buyers remorse.
