Upon further inspection, he took off early, got maybe a 5 yard head start.Posted in Practice thread, but didn't want it to get lost. Here's a Vine (video) of Coach Coombs running the 40 lol

Looked like he led through the first 30 or so
uhhhh wrong.. those youngsters just got a late start.. like really really late..Upon further inspection, he took off early, got maybe a 5 yard head start.
Love Coombs energy. His 'closing' speech made me want to be a Buckeye (again). Am not too sure that Archie won't steal this guy away and take him on the banquet circuit to speak with big bucks alums about upping their giving.....but from what I saw last year he's not a great X's and O's type of coach. Always thought that S and CB's should be working as a cohesive team (meaning one coach), and thankfully Urban realized that and brought in Ash. Urb cannot completely remove Coombs from the D, as that would negate his value as a recruiter, and it appears that Coombs is still doing pressers as the CB coach. Hopefully, Coombs works on the special teams, as that seems to have holes in it this spring.
Go Bucks!
I took the time to look at this play in very slow motion.
The reason Gardner was on the ground afterward was because he was hit by the defensive end who broke through a double team.
I always thought Powell just stood in front of the drag route and somehow Gardner did not see him. But I see that Powell really goaded him. The receiver was "wide open" when Gardner threw it, but Powell closed amazingly quickly.
